Under Topics, Democrats, is the D group being hosted by #17? If so does anybody know when it started as I cannot find any reference of the new hosts, in the Main folders.

(4,695 posts)The Democratic Party seems to be dividing as the old Republican guard goes over the too far to the Right, cliff. Gold water will take up the new Right; nuclear particles, in the soil of imperialized lands, are already a part of war.

Another DU member opined that the new hosts should be members that are not hosts of a different group, i.e., someone new to hosting. I agreed.

(4,695 posts)Minimum Wage in the past? I can find only her $12 hour, starting in April 2015, the same month that she announced.
So she went from the acceptance of $7.25 an hour for years, to $12 for one year now to $15 because there is very recent activism and a movement in New York for $15. I simply do not believe her.

Clinton has said previously that a $15 minimum wage, which is fast becoming a reality in pricy cities like Seattle and Los Angeles, may not make sense for less dense areas with lower costs of living. She said she supported the recent move by the wage board of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) to recommend a $15 minimum wage for fast-food workers in that state. But she has also said such a level may not be appropriate nationally.

WASHINGTON A group of progressive members of Congress introduced a $15 an hour national minimum wage bill on Wednesday as hundreds of federal contract workers went on strike to protest their job conditions.
Introduced in the Senate by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and in the House by Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) and Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.), the bill would go far beyond the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour and make it easier for federal workers to join a union. The proposed legislation follows another bill introduced by congressional Democrats in April that would raise the federal minimum wage to $12 an hour. Republicans have so far resisted raising the minimum wage.
President Barack Obama issued an executive order last year raising the wage for federal contract workers to $10.10 an hour.
