Single payer is actually cheaper than the 64% the government spends of each health care dollar now. Yes, we already pay 2/3 of every health care dollar.

Thats in no small part because insurers dump patients when they get sick.

A huge thing is military spending. If we simply cut back on military spending, we can do all the other things we need to do. Without globalizing - which is what other candidates want- (That would dramatically undercut skilled wages.)

We currently spend more than the whole rest of the world combined, so if we reduce that, and don't get involved in any new wars, no tax increases likely would be necessary.

I dont actually think big tax increases are necessary. I think Bernie is overstating them because he sees that as a popular thing to say but I actually think minor tweaks in what we spend money on likely would fix everything. For example, eliminating the ceiling on income taxed for Social Security would make it solvent indefinitely.

We should start discussing the changes brought by automation. The model we use for Social Security is not a good one for the future.

We also need to shift much more energy to lifelong education and prevention/treatment of toxic exposures that cause premature dementia. Like lead.

Lets let every kid remain a natural scientist and artist instead of beating it out of children.

Public Healthcare has to be completely free no money involved at all-to be legal to trade agreements

You need to read up a bit on the implications of the use of the following two line test as the definition for mandatory services liberalisation (privatization)

The GATS "governmental authority" exclusion

Article I:3 of the agreement states:

"For the purposes of this Agreement…

(b) 'services' includes any service in any sector except services supplied in the exercise of governmental authority;

(c) 'a service supplied in the exercise of governmental authority' means any service which is supplied neither on a commercial basis, nor in competition with one or more service suppliers."
