1. Thank you - groundwork isn't the most glamorous aspect of our activism, but,

at times it is exactly what is needed. I hope you enjoyed it enough to stick around.

Salute to the ground team.

Fwiw, here's the email that got me out of my chair.

We're live in New York! Our organizers are on the ground to work with you to build a strong, winning movement. We're opening offices, running canvasses, and preparing for our get out the vote program. Will you sign up to meet with one of our organizers?

Meet your organizer »

Bernie can only win New York if supporters like you participate in our campaign. We need you to vote for Bernie, but we also need you to volunteer with our organizers so we can build a robust campaign in your area.

The establishment is upping their spending and sending staff here to try to stop our political revolution. They wanted this wrapped up weeks ago – but we're still in this fight. We're still fighting because of the issues that matter to all of us. But we can only do this with your help.

Click here to sign up to meet with your local organizer.

We only have a short amount of time remaining. Please take a moment right now to get connected with your organizer. Together, we'll expand the political revolution and win New York.

In solidarity,

Nadya Stevens and Phil Aroneanu

So I clicked "there". I then got an email with details of an event happening in a few hours. I went and found two nice Bernie canvassing veterans there. Two other Sanders supporters showed up, along with their puppy wearing a Sanders T-Shirt, and after a brief talk we went out to see how easy it was. I downloaded an app and was assigned an area. Off I went, on my own, after I parted from the group.

Lots of people had moved, sadly one had died of a heroin overdose. I talked with his mom about it. There's been a long running epidemic of heroin use in our area. The other child of the mother was also on my list, and the mother said she would pass along the campaign literature to her as she was leaning towards Sanders. The mother was frank, she's a very religious Christian but she admired what Sanders stood for, and said while she was hoping to vote for a Christian, she'd consider Sanders (I think she leaned Republican, as she said how disappointed she was in Trump's behavior, and she wasn't listed as a registered Democrat). Only met one person leaning to Clinton, and he said he'd consider Sanders. He implied he was only thinking of the general election, and hadn't considered the primaries. Not a single bad vibe to Sanders, and I had several people say they supported him. Though some of that was by proxy. "My daughter isn't home, but she supports Sanders", for example.

I only had a few hours to do it, they say don't bother people after 5:00 PM on the weekends. I talked to the regional rep on the phone, saying I needed more materials. They open the regional office on Tuesday or Wednesday. I never bought a printer after I moved, but I may get one to print some stuff up. The regional rep said he'd email stuff to print, but I think he might not have my email, and I forgot to volunteer it.

Anyone have a link to an official source? I could email the canvassing leader, but I called him earlier and I don't want to be a pest. I'll google for it.

P.S. Young guy at the gym says "feeling the burn" to his buddy and I asked if he meant the Sanders bern. He laughed, and long story short, he was pissed he had registered as an Independent. My 17 year old nephew just had a similar experience. My brother-in-law is libertarian minded so I was surprised my nephew had become so progressive.

3. And in NY Independent means Independent PARTY. You have to be REALLY careful there.

Best wishes to you...we closed the gap in NC from 30 - 13. It can be done, and every vote matters when it comes time to divide delegates.
