Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumCall out to those who have never served on DU jury.
I finally agreed to serve on a jury today. I tried to ignore the request as I have done time and again but the voice in my head got the better of me. If you too have refused jury duty because you don't like the concept or don't want to be put in the middle I totally understand. That is how I felt. Then I thought about how fair minded people are needed and if we don't speak out things will never get better. I just want you to know that the process is self explanatory and you are offered a chance to back out before placing your vote. Have an awesome Friday evening!

(11,785 posts)at the moment. Lately though, I've been getting a lot of "jury full" messages, sometimes several in quick succession.

(11,076 posts)It was only getting smacked by the system that made me look at it more closely. : )

(46,436 posts)I always serve, but I tend to let posts stand unless someone is deliberately bullying someone else. I figure the candidates are fair game, so I almost always leave the ones that are opinions on Hillary or Bernie unless they're a complete fabrication.

(2,968 posts)There were only 2 posts out of numerous that I voted to hide. The
posters were being sarcastic but I thought they were too... er... "rude".

I feel we are all adults, put the big kid pants on and deal with it. I see a lot of posts I don't like and I move along. I don't believe in censorship regarding political discussion on a political board with adults.

(2,379 posts)I almost always accept unless I was just about to log off. I would encourage people from this group to serve on the Jury, if only for balance.

(3,411 posts)I do it to make sure there is some semblance of balance, too. Contrary to the complaints on GD they are almost always on Sander's supporters. I also used to get a jury call about twice a day for the last several months. Since the 'announcement' very few. And I have a 100% 'chance' jury rating.
