Is MSNBC's journalism for this Democratic primary going to be about the

Democratic primary candidates or about Hillary?

Ed Schultz seems to be a fan of Bernie's. Other than that, will Bernie and O'Malley get treated fairly? (Sorry, for many reasons, Webb can take a hike as far as I am concerned and I don't think even Chafee is taking Chafee seriously.)

After watching Lawrence O'Donnell this evening, I just had to email MSNBC and inquire about how they intend to cover the Democratic primary, though I did not mention any host's name because it's across the board, except for Schultz.

I've also decided to join their message boards and comment often on the prior day's shows. I'll also be commenting about their shows on facebook.

Just sayin'.

and good ideas. Haven't watched Schultz, just hayes, maddow + o'donnell. Hoping for decent coverage of O'Malley, who they say will be on Morning Joe tomorrow, as will trump (unless they give one of them to Friday,) and they'll hear from me if he's not well covered.

I think letting them know we are both watching and noticing may be a good idea.

BTW, if he does get fair treatment, it may be worth letting them know you approve.

I'm always amazed when people think of MSNBC as a "liberal" network.
The network is driven by viewers. It knows that appearing to be liberal will increase its audience.
Beyond that, it has no allegiances.

The only networks worth trusting are truly listener/viewer sponsored. That would include Pacifica, Democracy Now (which is independent of Pacifica), The Real News Network, and a few others. Even PBS and NPR with their "underwriter spots" (aka ads) are beholden to corporate influence. They allow just enough leeway to titillate (thus increasing listenership/viewership), but ultimately they aren't going to run views or stories that undermine their principal funders.

First, it's run by NBC News, which leans decidedly right.

Second, during the Bush administration, MSNBC tried to outdo FOX as far as right wing programming.

Third, if you believe Cenk, and I do, management expressly told him they were "establishment." The WH complained about Cenk's coverage and MSNBC took away his show, although it was, at the time, second in ratings only to Maddow.

PBS and NPR never recovered from changes made during the Bush administration.

That would include Pacifica, Democracy Now (which is independent of Pacifica), The Real News Network, and a few others.

Thank you for those recommendations. I do catch Democracy Now on TV often, but not the others. I'm guessing I can check them out online, though, as I also do with Democracy Now.

P.S. "Follow the money" and the related "Cui bono?" are always good sayings to keep in mind when discussing US politics.

FOX is OK with it if an R is doing it.

Neither examine what "it" is, as we move along a continuum from Reagan (R) to H. Bush (R) to Clinton (D) to W. Bush (R) to Obama (D).
It's a continuum shaped like a Möbius strip as Obama, a (D), praises Reagan, an (R), and the Bush/Clinton families are friends.

And, for a long time, most establishment Democrats have been Third Way types.

We can pay more attention to that.

I did not mean to interfere with her current target, but I was annoyed by O'Donnell's show and elleng said she was going to be on the lookout for how Martin O'Malley gets treated tomorrow.

And, of course, we can respond to mary's posts and find some of our targets, too!
