Bill Clinton stumping for Hillary Sunday; Sanders up in new polls

MAYWOOD — With Bernie Sanders catching up with Hillary Clinton in Illinois, former President Bill Clinton is hitting two black churches on Sunday – in west suburban Maywood and South Shore – to spur crucial African American voter turnout.

The Clinton campaign sent in a team of high profile surrogates fanning out across the Chicago area as two new polls point to the potential of a Sanders win in Illinois, turf long seen as solidly for Clinton.

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll gives Hillary Clinton only a narrow Illinois lead – 51 percent to 45 percent – while a CBS News survey gives Sanders the lead, 48 percent to 46 percent for Clinton.

Bill Clinton invoked the police shootings in Ferguson and Baltimore and the slaughter in a black church in Charleston, South Carolina in pitching Clinton at the Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Maywood.

He was introduced by Rep. Danny Davis D-Ill., – an Arkansas native who helped Bill Clinton in his 1992 Illinois presidential primary bid.

“Hillary believes responsibility is more important than blame,” Bill Clinton said. “…Hillary believes we have to find a way to stand our ground and find common ground.”

Or that they don't know why Bill and Hillary won't talk about him?

we've got a chance almost everywhere on Tues then. His anti-corruption message has got to hit home in Illinois. I think N Carolina will be much closer than the rest of the south. Many colleges, highly educated people and people affected adversely by free trade. Florida could be ugly but that's the only one I don't think Bernie has a good chance in.

While talking about shootings of black people to black people, he invokes NRA/ALEC legislation to enable gun nuts to shoot people without getting 'blame'?

Clintons really are tone deaf.

He appeared in Kansas City last week and only drew 300. Bernie had a crowd of 4,200 in Lawrence, KS and 7,500 in Kansas City.
