It's important to verify shared info with your friends/familly.

I was talking to my brother last night (leans liberal) and the conversation turned to politics. He has been reading my Facebook posts that I have put up about Bernie. He said he likes what he hears and reads about Bernie, but wouldn't be voting for him because he wouldn't split the Dem votes and allow Jeb to win. I had to clarify that Bernie was running [as an Independent] for the Democratic nomination *against* Hillary. There would be no need to 'split the vote'. He was really worried about that until I cleared it up for him.

I feel there are others like him who are confused simply because Bernie is known as an Independent, so it would be wise to just touch base with those you share info with - to make sure they understand [that even though he is an Independent, he is running for the Democratic slot on the ticket]. It could make a difference. BTW, my brother said he'd make sure his friends know that he's running against Hillary in the primary and there would be only one representing the Democratic party. He said that maybe Bernie would help bring the Democrats back to where they need to be and to who they need to represent.

at poisoning the waters with the Nader myth have now spread to the 2016 primary.

This is quite disheartening.

Will individual education be enough against mass media?

or from the freepers he works with (Norfolk Southern Railroad). Thankfully he doesn't buy into it all and even though I'm his baby sister, if he has questions, he'll check with me to see what my take is.

You can certainly assure him that there's no way both Hillary and Clinton will be on the ballot in November, so he has absolutely no worry about voting for Bernie splitting the Democratic vote.

I suppose I could say something snarky about Hillary making a run as an independent if she doesn't get the nomination, but I feel pretty confident she won't do that.

You could point out to your brother, that depending on where he lives, he may well have the opportunity to vote for various third party candidates, but to please vote for the Democrat on the ballot.

We have closed primaries in DE, so he will be able to vote Bernie. I can always suggest we go to the polls together. Not sure if he voted in the last few primaries or not.

Edited to add: I just sent him this link: http://voteforbernie.org/

Now if you can just get him to stop watching Fox, or add various better sources of information, that would be good.

Since that and snail mail are going to be what we're gonna have to work with.
