(14,733 posts)Some of the Clinton crowd actually believe she HASN'T gone negative yet. The suggestion was that they go into full on red-scare mode, talking hammers and sickles, communist this, socialist that, etc.
Personally I think that's going to be a big flop, and I think if she did go there, it would only drop her own numbers.

To answer your question - yes.

Same song, different verse, just louder and much, much worse.
Should be entertaining.

(2,872 posts)Bernies campaign just has to figure out where the shots are coming from next..
SC = "he wasn't part of the civil rights movement"
MI = "he voted AGAINST the auto industry"
The next BIG LIE is coming - it's just a matter of time... but what the Clintonistas don't get is that the internet is beautiful thing..
I won't vote for Trump or the rest of the 3 ring circus in November - but as some others have said, I will vote with a clear conscience..

(73 posts)Dishonest
Say anything to get elected.
This will resonate with a lot of people, because there are ample evidence for it. Bernie doesn't want to do it, but this is the truth. She is dishonest and will say anything to get elected.

(28,942 posts)Clinton's wowser about the bailout is a good example. They're hurting themselves with their clumsy bs more than anything we could do. Keep answering the lies with facts; that's all we need to do.
That and money bombs and hands on campaigning - door to door, phone banks, etc.

(36,063 posts)I think it's a safe bet that there will be much more energy devoted to disfiguring Sanders and his message.
The risk that's always there with negativity is producing a backlash among voters.
We've seen that Clinton negativity fuels money-bomb fund-raising for Sanders.
We may have seen some of that backlash last night...
Sanders beats her on the sentiment 'candidate cares about people like me'. There is a pretty good chance that people who feel that way would project Clinton attacks on Sanders into attacks on people like them...which is to say they'd take it personally.

(23,156 posts)I saw a post, maybe a whole thread, musing that maybe it was time for her to go negative. Excuse me? What in the world does anyone think she's been doing all along?
I sincerely hope that her entire campaign simply implodes in the next month or two and she just sinks into quicksand.
I will predict that there's a strong likelihood of a huge shake-up in her entire campaign staff and structure very soon, much like in '08, and that it will go from bad to worse.

(5,275 posts)they are at the bottom and they say, "It's time to go lower!"
Works sometimes...but unfortunately, it is the negative message that needs to be absorbed, not the messenger...and Hillary didn't do a good job of delivering the blow the other night...
she needs someone else's voice selling the bullshit...her perceived trustworthiness and honesty values are so low that people will tend to instinctively not buy into the message...
