Hillary really doesnt have the temperment to be President

http://thefederalist.com/2016/03/02/hillary-pops-off-to-skeptical-black-voter-why-dont-you-go-run-for-something-then/

March 2, 2016 By Bre Payton

During a campaign stop at a coffee shop in Minnesota on Tuesday, Hillary Clinton told a young black woman to “go run for something” if she wouldn’t support the former secretary of State’s bid for the White House.

According to The Hill, the woman was confronting Clinton about the remarks she has made in the past, including comments she made about “super-predators” in 1996. Some people have taken those comments as digs at black men.

Clinton made reference to meeting a Somali-American city council member, presumably Abdi Warsame of the Minneapolis City Council, yet the woman persisted in arguing with Clinton.

“You know what, dear, you have a different opinion,” Clinton said. “He is a Somali-American elected to the city council. I’m really proud of that.”

After the woman disagreed with her again, Clinton fired back: “Why don’t you go run for something then?”

“I’m working for a Somali-American,” the woman said.

“Well, good!” Clinton exclaimed. “Good luck to you!”

Watch the whole confrontation here:

I've made a comment about this before, but these militant BLM folks need to stop harassing Hillary. Most were young kids in the mid/late 90s and don't really know about the gangs and crimes that were going on in the black community back then. Yes there were super predators that needed to brought to heel.

I remember a lot of paranoia back in the 90's about black youth and gang violence. That's not to say there wasn't a problem (mainly, thanks to Reaganomics and the drug war), but calling them super predators and saying we needed to "bring them to heel" were obviously racist dog whistles.

Is not a "militant" group. They have not resorted to physical intimidation. They haven't brought firearms to their rallies. You may want to rethink your use of the word "militant".

They're tenacious, and I applaud them for their diligence. They should speak truth to power, regardless of who they speak that truth to.

Also, you're really going to go with the "brought to heel" wording there? You don't find anything inherently problematic with referring to people of color as though they are animals?

The "Super Predator" myth was a right wing talking point used to drum up fear.

1. She didn't just call them super-predators, she called these kids, these KIDS, she called them "super-predators who are without an;y conscience or empathy" Anyone who gives up on a CHILD, to straight up gives up on them and demonizes them instead of trying to rehabilitate them (which an actually decent society woudl try to rehabilitate "even" adults, but a bare minimum sane society would try to heal if the person is a child!) that person who says what Hillary said, doesn't have the temperament to be a decent human being.

Does Mexico have a gangs problem, ya think? They haven't so far used it as an excuse to double, in fact triple their per capita (and still would be lower than the U.S. rate) though if they have more politicians like Hillary, they no doubt would try to use it as an excuse for just that. Yes, it's only in some parts of Mexico "but we can't take any chances with these super-predator 14 year olds so let's lock 'em up now and ask questions later"

2. Putting aside what she said, what did she actively and vocally support in her husband's policies? The policy she actively and vocally supported was "lock em up!" which, even it we put aside the fear mongering of "oh, no one know how terribly dangerous these gangs were in the 1990s" putting that aside, the question is what policy will you use? the policy the Clintons used led to a massive, massive increase of imprisonment so bad that we became the number one country in the world not just in absolute numbers, but in per capita, too..

This isn't just totalitarian and heartless, it's also massively destructive to society economically, and socially. THAT is what Hillary's words were about, whether we whitewash the term "super-predator" or not, that massively destructive policy was rammed through in the 1990s, with a lot of help by BOTH Clintons.

8. One concern about "temperament" argument

I'm as tired of the fake "sexism" charges by the H.R. Clinton machine, as anyone...the pathetic woman card they play all the time as Debbie the Sane Progressive on youtube puts it

but why hand them another excuse to paint that term as "gendered"? I'm not criticizing you specifically DJ...but in general.

But, you say, shouldn't we tell the truth no matter whether the other side tries to misquote and misinterpret our words?

Well, I would argue that the truth is this: Hillary DOES have the temperament to be President: she has the temperament to be a VICIOUS, cold, calculating, amoral, brutally war-mongering and screw-the-poor (and most of the middle class) president.

No really..that's my main contention, the first two lines about how the HRC may play victim about the term "she lacks temeprament" was just an opening comment...I really think saying she "doesn't have the temperament" under-estimates the problem.

If you mean that she shares some emotional and not very good things, in common with McCain, then I think you'd be right...so there are temperament issues...if you mean that...and tone deaf if you mean that...

but most of all the worry is she has a very "Strong" temperament to be a viciously amoral and calculating power-hungry President....I haven't watched it yet but The Young Turks has a video up today about Hillary being a new and improved "corporate robot" but just with "fewer bugs"...I haven't seen such lack of conviction, "I'm just saying these words without any real feeling behind them" since Bush in 2000. Reagan was a monster - and Bush Sr...but they mostly, believed in what they said, mostly had feelings...with GWB in 2000 it was like a robot saying words he thought sounded good without any sense of any feeling or humanity or human being behind them...I get a similar sense watching Hillary..there are exceptions...her emotions are real when it's annoyance at "why don't you little people in the media stop asking me inconvenient questions about" some topic...but not about positions...there's no soul there, behind that mask...

And what happened with Bush? Liberals and progressives excepted him to be terrible...and they were wrong, in the sense that, he was even worse than they expected...I fear the same if Hillary gets in...Progressive expect "terrible" but I think she might surprise us with even worse, like mass murder abroad and even more pro corporate and impoverishing policies at home than people already expect of her...

I don't base it on just my looking at her emotionless talk on her "beliefs" though...it's also the more you dig into the 1990s the more horrors you find at home and abroad...no time to get into that here...but google for Denis Halliday Hans von Sponeck genocide
