(14,255 posts)I am guessing there is a great deal of pressure to support Hillary in the DNC.
And I have never ever ever gotten an answer when I ask why is it okay for Debbie DINO to support her GOP cronies. The Democratic committee in Florida is mostly a DINO nest, and the DNC itself is going the same way.

(32,096 posts)and Hillary have put a lot of pressure on everybody, from DWS on down. Folks like Elizabeth Warren who could have had this nomination easily, our up and comers like Julian Castro have been reminded, I'm sure, that it's "her turn".
The Third Way had funding from the Koch Bros. - don't forget that little factoid. That's Bill Clinton right there. Anyone around in the 90s in Wash DC saw all of this.

(14,255 posts)plus, stuff like - she is against marijuana legalization, but offered to change her stance if John Morgan (a wealthy lawyer who supports legalization and bankrolls that) would stop saying mean (but true) bad things about her.
I think many of the New Democrat Coalition should have their offices in a Red Light District. Anyone who has been to Amsterdam will know what I mean.

Hillary's campaign chest bulging at the seams....No I think Hillary would be trashing Elizabeth Warren the same way as her and her right wing Campaign advisers are trashing Bernie Sanders now..Hillary Clinton has wanted this for 30 years and she has this attitude that "by God nothing or no one is going to stop me"
Bill Clinton would be about there with his Rovic Style Tactics just as he is now

.that we would have had Warren and other Democrats in this election if there hadn't been the Clinton machine.
On the other hand, if HRC wins the Presidency, we will desperately need Bernie and Warren to resist her through the Senate, continuing to build the movement Bernie is now leading.
TBF
(32,096 posts)I am not part of that mindset. For me it's time to Bern it down. Sorry. I will not be part of the "incremental baby steps" any longer.
zentrum
(9,865 posts)But if HRC does winwhat then? Can't just go passive and stop paying attention. We'll need Warren and Bernie to help limit her and to keep educating what is a grossly uninformed, disengaged population.
I guess you're saying you never even let the thought enter your mind. I do, only because I've been so disappointed so many times before. This is a really ignorant and corrupt country, so I've becomementally prepared.

(6,994 posts)She has the Corporate media, she has the Corporate Money machine, and she is not to be denied according to her and Bill.
If Elizabeth Warren had challenged Hillary she would be trashed by the Coprorate News Networks,The Hillary Comcast Networks and the David Brocks, the Chris Mathews and yes probably the same Hillary supporters that are trashing Bernie here.
Hillary has been the establishment candidate, the chosen one since Debbie Wassermann Schultz became DNC chairman.
If we ever thought Obama is a corporatist in many of his signed legislative bills or issues or his cabinet appointments..Well if God forbid Hillary is elected we haven't seen nothing yet.Her cabinet meetings will look more like a GoldmanSachs board room.
Hillary will give us this "I have read the TPP legislation and I will sign it" or The Keystone Pipeline is a good for America or
Fracking will eliminate our oil dependence on foreign oil (A Republican talking Point)

..Warren didn't run.
Clinton has an iron will, and that, combined with her lust for power and her lack of inner convictions will make for a terrible 4 years for the country.
Still going to fight for Bernie, but the country is in real trouble that a Trump is even possible, and that the FDR candidate is being shut out. We haven't had a good, strong, FDR Democrat in the WH since Johnson and
..he was a Neocon abroad. So, maybe not since Kennedy. That's 50 years ago!

(19,537 posts)If Elizabeth Warren won't do it (and there is a great argument that we could use her staying in the Senate), then someone like Tulsi would be great to have on the ticket then if Bernie could pull it out. That or Bernie could then FIRE DWS as head of the DNC the day he takes office if she hasn't already left by that time and replace her with Tulsi then!

(19,537 posts)This earlier post on DU had a page which advocated 25 different people for his VP. One of the few good recommendations there was her.

She could be the youngest candidate for that level of office. Something that really might bring the youth vote out!
In checking the wiki page, she was born in American Samoa. Would that be qualified as U.S. born? I'm guessing though if Cruz is in and McCain was in earlier born in Panama "perhaps" in the American hospital there (though records haven't been found for being born on an American base there in American "territory" either).

(28,945 posts)American Samoans are nationals like Puerto Ricans, not citizens by birth. The exception: If a parent was a US citizen. Her father was born in America Samoa, can't find data on her mother. So it appears she isn't eligible for VP.
A shame: She has an impressive c. vita.

Host asking about time running out.
Says his campaign got beaten badly, congratulates HC. Reminds everyone that Clintons have run four campaigns in S.C. (2 Bill, 2 HC now); they know the terrain well.
Comments that he won with younger voters who are the future of the Democratic party.
Says older African-Americans did not vote for him in SC.
Says he went into the state at 7-8% in the polls.
Host comments that he is perceived as more honest than HC.
Bernie tells about ten thousand out for him in Texas, and cited more in other states which I didn't get.
