http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=1300248This a new low, a Clinton supporter has compared Bernie Sanders and his supporters to Chairman Mao and the Cultural Revolution. Clinton supporters complain about being attacked, but one of them post one of the most low example of red baiting I have ever seen.

Here's a hint. They're doing it to themselves. We didn't place the lies in their mouths.
ETA: Just remembered what this reminds me of. The Bush regime claiming that whistleblowers leaking photos of abuse at Abu Ghraib 'endangers Americans' and 'inflames terrorism'. No, you jackasses. The ABUSE, the MURDER, the TORTURE at Abu Ghraib 'endangers Americans' and 'inflames terrorism'. Not the fact that somebody called you on that abuse.

(7,318 posts)I've been here 10 years, so I'm familiar with a large number of posters here who are pro-business, pro-banks, pro-big oil, pro-trade agreements, pro-mandatory health insurance, pro-charter schools, pro-police, pro-authoritarian, pro-tiny houses etc. and who also never post in favor of unions, prison reform, public schools, employee pensions, personal privacy, public transportation, universal single payer health care, minimum wage, tenant rights, rent controls or any other poor or middle class economic policy on the Democratic platform. It must be awful to be them and having to walk that very fine line in order to post here. And of those that have self identified the candidate they support...yup, all of them are Clinton supporters. Quelle surprise

(1,523 posts)I'm not aware of all the Clinton Smears against Sanders. However I thought comparing Bernie Supporters to those who took part in the Cultural Revolution in China was low given the consequences of the Cultural Revolution in China. That Clinton supporter is comparing Sanders supporters to people who killed and jailed people. That is why I felt it was a new low.

What about the 'revolutions' of Reagan, Thatcher and Newt?
Makes you wonder if they realize that Tom Paine, TJ, GW,BF, Madison, Monroe and many others were 'revolutionaries' who built and fought for our democracy during the American Revolution and the creation of the United States.

(10,337 posts)Today I trash canned the Hillary group and my ignore list is really long. I don't know if the problem is paid trolls or what but the diologue has just gotton toxic. It started with the alert trolls and reached a point where DU is no longer readable without considered editing. I've been here since early 2001, and been involved in politics since the civil rights movement and I have NEVER seen anything like the current Presidential season. I am having difficulty telling the difference between the tea bangers and the Hillary bots. Facts don't matter. They just make shit up and throw it at the wall to see what sticks, then call it "just politics"". A sad state for our country.
P.s. Fuck spell check! I've had to edit this post several times to fix shit.

Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Nope, sorry alerter - no dice. I'm sick and tired of the red baiting. You want us to stop calling it out stop using that tactic.

(1,523 posts)I see that Hillary supporters in the original thread in General Discussion Primary are calling me out for posting this in a protected message board. First I responded to the original post before I posted this one. Secondly they are saying I misrepresented the original post, and that I have no sense of history There is no misrepresentation. It is as clear as day that a Bernie Sanders supporters were being unfairly compared to members of the Cultural Revolution's Red Guard.
