The ustream video from the Susan Sarandon tweet is very long.

The request for translation begins at 53:30 on this ustream video.

The MODERATOR says “we’re going forward in English Only” at 55:18 and a few people applaud.

THERE. IS. NO. CHANTING.

Susan Sarandon, who was there, has posted this longer video in a tweet. Anyone who watches this video can see and hear for themselves.

The moderator ONLY is the one who says the words “English only” and apparently made a unilateral decision.

There is no chanting, organized or otherwise, from Bernie supporters or from anyone really, except for the person we have already heard in the shorter video who is saying “neutral! neutral!”

Perhaps one or two quiet people up front said something that cannot be heard that influenced the moderator or that he repeated.

But when I first heard this story I imagined the worst. A group of Bernie supporters actually chanting repeatedly the words ENGLISH ONLY! ENGLISH ONLY! ENGLISH ONLY! That is the impression HRC supporters intended to leave and they have succeeded!

Countless people are believing and repeating that mistaken impression and FSM only knows what effect it may have in other spanish speaking areas.

As I said in the other diary, in my opinion 2016 is now officially more vicious than 2008, and I never thought I would say that.

I'll take Susan Sarandon's word for it because the video is clear than no one was shouting down anyone.

This is going to cost Hillary's campaign a lot of Latino votes down the road because it wasn't necessary for her surrogate to lie like that for her.

7. I was upset when I first heard the story about the chanting

I decided to wait until morning to make a comment. I'm glad I waited since the story was false. What gets me there is a thread in GDP by a Clinton supporter angry that Sanders supporters are angry about the lie.

And should require a public apology to the Sanders campaign, as well as full retractions of subsequent stories repeating the lie.
