Many years ago, before I was a mom myself (so was not yet watching Sesame Street), I was examining a little boy who was wearing a Bert and Ernie T-shirt. Just kinda making conversation with his mom, I remarked that I could never remember which one was Bert and which one was Ernie. In all seriousness, she replied, "Bert is the funny looking one."

5. How cool must that have been!!!

I traveled 100% of the time for my job in the late 80's (for a hotel company). It was difficult to bring enough books (no Kindles back then - still don't have one) and I don't like television much, but Sesame Street on PBS was a constant no matter where I landed. I listened/watched that because I adored the Muppets. I happened to be in San Francisco packing for my next assignment when Jim Henson died - I cried all the way to the airport.
