REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
More disruptive meta from this disruptive troll poster. Just the third post of the night about alerts and jury hides, can we cut the crap please and stop the whining. This is out of line for this group and should be hidden as over the top and complaining about a jury result.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Feb 19, 2016, 01:46 AM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Alert stalking at its finest.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Stop alerting on stupid stuff.
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(2,717 posts)that is really really awful
I never realized DU was such a comedy site until Hillary declared - or actually, until Bernie declared his presidential candidacy. And now that he's winning states the comedy is so much better? They've really improved their acts with all the practice.

(31,935 posts)I kinda don't care too much if I get banned if DU decides that the Third (moderate republican) way is the ONLY way from now on. I'm a Dem from the Carter years. I haven't left the party, but it's been leaving me since the Reagan's days in office. If left of center isn't where they want to be anymore, then it's time to go Green or...something. We'll figure it out I'm sure!

(3,813 posts)I was the only kid in my third grade class to vote for Carter in our 1980 classroom poll.
Since that time, I have moved from fervent hope for what Democrats and people organizing via the Democratic Party can do for America, to abject cynicism, and back again, more than a few times. Bernie, Warren, Tulsi Gabbard, Nina Turner, and many of our local Democratic organizers here in NC have me quite hopeful at the moment.
I will say one thing now, if Bernie gets the popular vote, but Hillary clinches the nomination via Stupor-delegates, they'll have to choose between banning you (I imagine) and I both, or hearing our reasonable rage against such an undemocratic process.

(11,093 posts)and can count the number of hides on my (probably just) one hand. One was valid, I concede, but the other was I criticized the Obama administration for not considering a recess (or even regular) SCOTUS appointment. I also concede I called them 'pussies' in my description, but I think that's how they were, and the rest of the post (and conversation) was reasonable. In time, not very long, the news has beared me out with articles from everyone from Sandra Day O'Conner to everyone else saying Obama should appoint - in fact, it's his obligation.
But my post was "hurtful, inconsiderate, "over the top"", etc. I don't participate in the jury system any more - I think it's flawed. At least as moderators we took things into context and discussed them, and the poster's history, but as jury members we're expected to make a decision in a few minutes WITHOUT any cross-communication (deliberation, if you will) with other members, and no historical context. It's basically a joke, and short of an extreme case, I don't want anything to do with it.
Now, out of 10,000+ posts, I'm not worried about the occasional hidden post, but I find it frustrating nonetheless.

(41,600 posts)They're in rabid attack mode. The best thing to do is avoid them, ignore their threads full of LIES and never, ever respond to them unless you must. They're trying to bait everyone into alert posts.
Just don't give them the satisfaction.
If they could have their way, DU would be only the 20-30 Clinton supporters talking to themselves.
IGNORE THEM. It does wonders for your blood pressure!

(20,234 posts)and not sure how I would have voted on the meta stuff. Sometimes I excuse myself from those juries. But I will say I don't want to come to the Bernie group and see it overtaken with "I got alerted on" threads. I want to see commentary on Bernie or Hillary - the other stuff is a little facebook squabble drama-ish for me.
blm
(113,069 posts)of frothing reliance on propaganda that seems deliberately crafted to break down the party, itself.
RW talking points abound - and it sickens me to see them being used by both camps - some innocently, some I suspect as NOT so innocent, and, in fact, deliberately calculated.
Some of us have been fighting the RW propaganda media since the early 90s, and it kills me to see it is actually being SPREAD here these days.
Another sad reality is the preciousness going around - I was one of the early blocks from HRC group for a mild criticism of a campaign tactic they were employing early on. I pop in here now and then to voice a concern, but, have mostly stayed away because some of the enthusiastic attacks coupled with overthetop glee feel insincere and doesn't pass the smell test to me.
I guess some of us remember SeventhSon and other trolls like him, all too well.

(5,927 posts)where the alerter can be penalized for a certain number of un-hidden alerts? That would cut down on frivolous alerts and stalking, I would think. My 2 cents
