My 8 yr old son spent the day with his cousins today...

they had an election for president of their Minecraft world

My son won, and this was his platform:

1. i want people to only chop trees and hunt in set aside land
2. i think that food should be given free to the poor
3. make motels for homeless people
4. ban all bow shops except for cops
5. make a machine that tells if you're too high or drunk to drive

He comes with us to political events and marches... in 2008, when he was just learning to speak, the American flag was know as an "Obama"

the worrisome part: he told his mom he wants to be president of the U.S. some day

I feel, and hope that it gives children a sense of humanity and worldly responsibility at a young age.

To know that you share the society you live in, WITH THAT society.

I grew up a good kid, but didn't develop an interest in politics until Bernie.

One of her first words (she talked really young and hasn't stopped since - ha!) was "BamaChelle" - she ran "Obama" and "Michelle" together, but called only him that.

BTW, my 16 year old son played Politics 2016 as Bernie the other day and kicked the shit out of Ted Cruz.

So, if you have one of those, you can get it there, too. I'm sure retrowire is familiar.
