SANDERS TIED WITH CLINTON, Latest National Quinnipiac Poll, Trump Up 8 Points

- Among Democrats, Clinton Took 44 Percent to Sanders' 42 Percent, As Race Continues to Tighten Ahead of Contests in Nevada and South Carolina -

Donald Trump's lead among Republicans nationally has soared back to double digits, according to the results of the latest Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday, while on the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are locked in a virtual tie.

Trump grabbed 39 percent, up eight points from the previous two weeks, followed by Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at 19 percent, who remained static. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz dropped four points to third place with 18 percent, with Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 6 percent and no other candidate polling above the margin of error, with 9 percent undecided.

The Manhattan businessman is also perceived as the party's best candidate to win in November, with 77 percent responding that he has a good chance of winning in the general election compared to 61 percent for Rubio and 60 percent for Cruz.

Among Democrats, Clinton took 44 percent to Sanders' 42 percent, as that race continues to tighten ahead of contests in Nevada and South Carolina. The gender gap between both candidates is shrinking, with women supporting Clinton over Sanders 47 percent to 41 percent and men backing Sanders over Clinton 44 percent to 40 percent.

While 83 percent of Democrats said Clinton would have a good chance of winning in November, a smaller share — 69 percent — said the same for Sanders.

> The poll was conducted Feb. 10-15, surveying 1,342 registered voters nationwide via landlines and cellphones with an overall margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points. The sample includes 602 Republican voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points and 563 Democrats with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.

With that poll added in, the Huffpo Pollster rolling average line has it down to Hillary 47.7, Bernie 40.4, the first time Bernie has ever passed 40%, and just 3% or so off her lowest ever for Clinton, saved only by the large bump she got after Biden announced he wasn't running.

So Sanders smashes past another 'ceiling'. First, the Clinton folks thought he'd never hit 10%, then surely not 20%, then his 'max support' was going to be 25%, then 30, then 35. I don't know if they've been claiming 40% was his new 'maximum', or if they've given up on that line of argument entirely, since I have so many on ignore...

has a lot more to own up to than he does.

"He's a socialist!! He wants to give away free stuff that he can't pay for!! "

versus

"she takes WS money and then proclaims to be a progressive who will fight for the everyday person; Benghazi; e-mail scandal; claims banks are not to big to fail and there's the Dodd Frank act (that's never been used) but then takes their money; she flip flopped on late term abortions; Iraq vote - it was right before it was wrong - poor judgment!; "super predators"; blathering of people like Albright, Steinem, her husband"; she's married to Bill Clinton - the Repubs arch enemy; she loves trade deals and then she doesn't; she's for the death penalty; taking money from private prisons; Walmart board; she smeared the President in 2008 ("as far as I know&quot "

and those are just the ones off of the top of my head

He just has to catch her, or pass her in early states, then keep passing her in later states

He caught her in Iowa, he passed her in New Hampshire, he's on his way to catching her in Nevada, he probably won't catch her in SC, but as time goes on, he'll catch or pass her in more or more states.

They kept saying that he wasn't going to go anywhere, but to drop out before the first primary/caucus.

Like, let's pile on the dreck. And keep on piling it on.

I've never seen so much, and alas, from so many.

Bernie's been talking about things that liberals have been saying should happen for decades. Now he is running for the nomination and all the sudden those are bad things? It makes no sense.
