Hillary cancels Florida appearance to focus on Nevada

http://miami.cbslocal.com/2016/02/13/hillary-clinton-cancels-palm-beach-pit-stop-bill-to-speak-instead/

RIVIERA BEACH (CBSMiami) — Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has abruptly canceled a Palm Beach appearance but husband and former President Bill Clinton will attend in her absence.

In an announcement from the Clinton campaign Friday night, a press release stated that Hillary would be staying in Nevada for additional events.

The appearance was scheduled for Monday at the Port of Palm Beach in Riviera Beach, as reported by CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.

Clear sign that Bernie's doing much better in Nevada than she thought he would.

The article does not make it clear.

What is clear is that Bernie not only attracts far larger crowds than she does, but she has many more closed events, open to a select group. His events often have to turn people away.

Hillary Rodham Clinton will attend a Feb. 15 fundraiser for her campaign at the home of Elaine and Gerald Schuster.
The lunch reception will benefit Hillary for America, the invitation says.
Contribution levels are: $1,000 per person for the reception and $2,700 per person for the reception and a photo with Clinton. A “co-host” must raise $10,000, which includes a host reception with Clinton. A “host” must raise $27,000 and a “chair” must raise $50,000 - both include a host reception with Clinton and membership in the Hillary for America Finance Committee.

RIVIERA BEACH (CBS12) — Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton cancels her trip to Palm Beach County, opting to visit Nevada instead. Former President Bill Clinton will be stopping by a Riviera Beach campaign rally on behalf of his wife Monday.

The "Palm Beach Organizing Event with President Bill Clinton" is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Port of Palm Beach Cruise Terminal.

The former President's visit falls on the holiday Presidents Day.

Yes, as you note Bernie is meanwhile reaching strongly out to grass roots and people are listening.

I wonder if, in addition to her polling info in Nevada, the indication that young Latinos in Iowa showed up in larger numbers than ever before and look to have gone for Bernie is part of the reason.

So, there won’t be Hill. But there will be Bill.
Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is taking seriously the sting she received from Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire. She’s heading to Nevada, the site of the next presidential caucus, and skipping her Palm Beach event as she ramps up her campaign strategy.
But her husband, former president Bill Clinton, will take her place at both a rally at the Port of Palm Beach and a fundraiser at the Palm Beach home of Gerry and Elaine Schuster.
The reception at the Schuster home, a benefit for Hillary For America, will go on as scheduled. Donations for the event start at the $1,000 guest level for the reception only to $27,000 host level, which includes membership on the finance committee.
In addition to the Port event and the Schuster reception, the former president’s Monday schedule includes private fundraisers in Boca Raton and Miami.

...and gets a dismal attendance right after Bernie's 18K+ rally in Denver, it can be said that it's because Hillary wasn't there.

She can't draw Bernie's crowds and no one wants to hear what she has to say, anyway.
