Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumHas anyone mentioned Kucinich as a possible running mate for Sanders (if nominated)?
Don't know why it hadn't before, but just crossed my mind. Dream of dreams is a Sanders-Warren ticket, but Warren is just as needed (if not moreso) in the Senate. Short of that (no pun intended), I think Kucinich would perfectly complement Sanders' platform.

(2,166 posts)If not VP, he deserves a seat somewhere in Bernie's Cabinet.
His wife, as well.
He was one of the few voices standing against Obama's partisan nonsense.
(As to how he was silenced is fodder for worthwhile, very dark, speculation.)

(14,733 posts)I don't think Kucinich in the Veep spot helps the ticket. We need someone who represents the changing face of the electorate, not an elderly white guy/elderly white guy ticket. Somebody who, thanks to having Sanders' ear during the term, can come to him and say, 'Hey, look, that just doesn't work for women. That just doesn't work for Latinos or black people, or Native Americans.' And sit down and talk with him, and help him alter what he's working on from within a different worldview.
And ditto, the Supreme Court - we need another woman, preferably a black or Native American woman, preferably not another Catholic. We need all viewpoints getting their say in the halls of power.

(5,069 posts)More voices at the table - more out-of-the box solutions for our out-of-the box 21st century global crises. One of the subtle opportunities that I see is that with publicly funded elections we will see a rise in parties outside the Democrats and Republicans who bring in the same old, same old in terms of personalities and solutions...I'm for including all voices at the table vis a vis parties and especially candidates. Not that I would dismiss Kucinich but lets bring in some new talent.

Senator Sanders has got the progressives wrapped up.

(32,067 posts)not Kucinich. Not Warren. We need the independents.
I was at a rally this morning here in Texas. One guy in the crowd was in a union - typical Reagan D who feels "it has just gone too far" and he likes Bernie because "he seems honest". We need those folks. We don't get them w/Kucinich.
