With a deep sigh: I'm coming out before NV and SC: Sanders is our best shot

I just can't see Clinton carrying this through. I'm not ecstatic, I'm not even terribly optimistic, and I could spit nails at Clinton for sucking every ounce of oxygen from this primary, but: We. Have. To. Win. And I think Sanders is our best shot now.

Count me in. What should I do?

Is that on-line voting? At various American embassies? I met some ex-pats in Berlin back when Obama ran the first time, and as I recall they congregated at the U.S. Embassy there. Hope there is some way for Bernie's team to monitor voting and keep it honest.

i'm having deja vu all over again. and, while i do support Sanders on his eonomic policy the reason i was an early supporter is b/c of the same reason you state here --> he's our best chance to win.

HRC can't win this. she's using the same old, unsucessful campaign tricks from 2008 that didn't work back then. so, what's doubly troubling is the candidate didn't learn from her mistakes. in 2007 Mark Penn, in the capacity of consulting for her campaign said that Obama would win only if he were running against Atila The Hun...well...?

I am going to my first organizing meeting in a couple of hours. It is filled to capacity today (and I am in Texas!). I did this for Obama as well - they always need folks to call & knock on doors (I somehow wound up co-precinct captain as well in '08).

Obama was a little conservative for me in '08 (just as you may have a few reservations about Sanders), but I knew Hillary couldn't win the general.

Welcome aboard.

My 20 YO redditor grandson (who lives with me) never cared about politics before. Through reddit, he is on fire for Bernie.

He has been partially deaf from birth, and is quite adept at reading body language. He has watched both Bernie and Hillary, and he feels Bernie is honest and angry, and Hillary is dishonest and angry, that she will say anything just for votes. And that she looks likes she resents even having to debate or make campaign appearances. Also feels that bringing Bill out is not too smart, that people his age just remember the sex stuff. And - Bill OWNS that.

He also said he understands, he guesses, the need to break everybody down into demographics - but that it is, in a way, insulting.
He works in customer service, and says he meets Bernie fans, and Trump fans, but no fans of anyone else.

He says the world is too noisy and jangling with them in, and really prefers to use body language, reading lips, and hearing all mixed together. He is very perceptive. He has been working on a huge (think Game of Thrones) sci-fi/fantasy story for many years - he just gets carried away on plot lines.

I learned about controlling facial expression and body language when working in Japan. Makes my grandson mad when I consciously make my face blank. :-l

Feb 2016

I had planned a 2 week trip to India w/ a daughter who had previously spent 2 months at an ashram (in Gujarat?) becoming a certified Yoga instructor, plus a week in Goa. We were going to fly into Mumbai, hire a car and driver and eventually end up in Delhi. Sadly she had to change jobs a couple of months beforehand and couldn't take that much time off. So my plans to visit the Agra Fort/Taj Majal; the Red Fort and the Ellora Caves came to naught.

My son spent some time in the Madras area - friends from uni were there, and he brought back great photos of overgrown, abandoned temples. He's traveled extensively and said nothing compares to India - it overwhelms all the senses. Now I'm in a mood to watch my DVD of the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel!

voter turnout—To depress voter turnout on the Democratic side (excoriate me all you want, but if she's the nominee, I will not vote for her, and a lot of others have not hesitated to express the same sentiment), and to shoot Republican turnout into the stratosphere. She's such a polarizing figure I have serious doubts about her ability to win the General. I think you're right about Sanders.

You are right to be skeptical about the election, because
this time the repugs will go all out, and our candidates
do not have the charisma of an Obama.

That said, it seems very unreal to me that all HRC
supporters seem to forget that she has an FBI investigation
hanging over her head, which will be used in the GE.

In comparison to that "democratic socialism" seems less
frightening for a nominee.

Participate as much as you can from far away, and hope
and "pray" for the best as I do.

because, you are absolutely right; bernie is our BEST SHOT!!

so, may i humbly suggest you do a lot of reading up on bernie's record, watch a few interviews with thom hartmann, review the campaign so far, so you're sure. so you feel more confident that you sound right now.

then, go to bernie's website and volunteer.

donate if the mood and ability strike you.

or just talk about your position and reasoning with others.

whatever you do, do with respect and love, and an eye for the bigger picture, all that is at stake right now. but try to avoid the angst and resentment that sadly dominates, even in these parts.

oh. and smile. a lot. it helps.
