are volunteering in some way for the campaign?
I say this more as a rallying cry. If you are doing something for the campaign already, awesome. If not (and we have so so many supporters on DU) there is always something to do. Allow me to give a couple examples
1. Go to Bernie's website and find an event near you. There are still many states gathering signatures for Bernie to get on the ballot. You can also find phone bank parties where people host a group to make calls all night. Or you can host one yourself!
2. You can do the phonebanking privately from your own home as well. It is incredibly easy and a lot of fun (though you will talk to some grumpy people occasionally). You can pick the state to call but there is usually suggestions on the phonebanking site. Find it here: https://go.berniesanders.com/page/content/phonebank
3. You can e-mail info@berniesanders.com also to get the name of your state's coordinator to see if there are other events going on in your state. Expect a day or two wait, but all e-mails get answered. You can also make a post on here as we do have some people connected to the campaign (far more than me) that can be of some help.
Bottom line is that the majority of us work or are busy during the day. I don't feel like going home and making or monitoring calls for the campaign some days. But I must do it I tell myself. This campaign is about sacrifice and making this world better for all of us. So if you have not yet started volunteering, the time is now.
Grab your friends and family and let them know what they can do too. This is old fashioned grass roots work that you can do on your own without anyone telling you what to do and on YOUR time. Again, I understand that we all lead busy lives. But Bernie needs us. We do NOT want to wake up a few months from now wondering if there was more we could have done. Every person you reach that can hear our message is another potential voter. And these next 3-4 weeks are pretty much huge for the campaign.
Alright.... Now let's keep working hard for Bernie because he is doing his part for us!
* I am not a campaign official. I have been given a little more responsibility of late, but I started out from scratch. I am just someone who is trying to organize us a little better in our efforts here from DU

(2,262 posts)Volunteering. No one, not even Barack Obama has motivated me more than Senator Bernie Sanders. And no one represents my interests more than he.
I used to have a great job before being laid off. But I still give $15 every time I can. And I loved John Edwards. LOVEDD.. (Pre-Rielle John) and I loved his wife dearly. But this man touches my soul. I literally was getting choked up during his victory speech, not for me, but because I was so happy for him to have this moment. And I look forward to many more!

Above all, my thoughts and prayers go to you as you work on your job hunt. Been there. I now make half of what I used to make. We all share the burden of these difficult times. Your time is near.

(32,090 posts)I haven't volunteered since I was a precinct head in 2008, but the campaign sent out an email so I'm going. Texas primary coming up March 2nd (super Tues).
I was a monitor for calls going to Texas the other day. We had lots of calls going in there. Keep us posted on the vibe in Texas!!

(1,090 posts)she will be a delegate from our caucus, we have Bernie debate watching parties at our house. I might be able to be a delegate as well if I can be home, we will see and of course we have a monthly donation going. I first met Bernie 20 years ago at a DSA meeting in San Diego, he's the same great person now as then.

(812 posts)Let them know quite clearly that you won't be supporting them moving forward if they don't immediately withdraw their declared support of HRH, and instead support the will of the majority in your state.
Superdelegates who are in the tank for her are not part of the solution, they're part of the problem. They need to go.
This will be a critical step for moving forward.

This is real. I got an email yesterday from our national field director saying that we need more volunteers calling voters in Nevada.
He came to me with this request because he knows that I can call on all of you. Here's what we need you to do.
Call Nevada voters from home.
Bernie Dialer Calls into Nevada
10 am - 9 pm Pacific Time / 1 pm - midnight Eastern Time
The campaign needs volunteers across the country to help us call voters in Nevada and find out who is for Bernie and who is still undecided. If you identify that a voter is for Bernie, then our local staff and volunteers on the ground follow up with information about how, when and where to caucus. If voters are undecided, our local folks will contact them at the door or in a neighbor-to-neighbor phone call and persuade them that Bernie is the best candidate for president.
You can also make calls with fellow Bernie supporters at a phone bank party near you:
It took a massive effort by Bernie volunteers and donors across the country to help win a virtual tie in Iowa and an historic victory in New Hampshire. We're going to have to double down on that effort to defy the odds in Nevada.
Thank you for everything you are doing to elect Bernie Sanders president of the United States.
In solidarity,
Becky Bond
