Demographics.

Last edited Wed Feb 10, 2016, 01:28 PM - Edit history (1)

Black people go into sub-categories just like White people.

Gender.
Age.
Geographical.
Education.
Career.
Blue Collar.
White Collar.
Life Experience.
Socio-Economic status.

etc.

I am one btw and I resent any implication that I am one fits all category. Shuck that jive.

1. I'm not sure that's a helpful thought

the last thing anyone wants to hear is that their racial cross section doesn't matter as much as what you have listed. I'm not sure if that's what you're trying to communicate (and I really really think it's not) but I don't think it's a good way to address it.

like I said, I don't doubt the nobility of the thought behind it as far as going for inclusivity and equality, but I don't really know if it's communicated that well.

In my family alone we run the full spectrum, conservative (Reagan republican) to me (probably the most progressive). Most of us are democrat but we still vary quite a bit.

I'm actually more green, in terms of platforms, than anything but I vote blue.

Likewise, though we're a very weird plural family, I can certainly understand that. I'm not debating the point, trust me, only the way it was conveyed.

select people on ignore (again) but every once in a while I see an OP that NEEDS to be addressed. This one was one such OP.

I see 1SBM also felt the need to elaborate on it.

Different points of view. Just proving my point about the gender card.

And I've seen that all of those factors are at play as well. It would be like saying Sarah Palin and I are both white middle-aged women so we are similar in voting. If you've read any of my posts in the socialists group you know that couldn't be further from the truth. Media of course leads the charge with stereotyping and division - they like to rile things up (it suits their billionaire owners who will do anything to keep attention off themselves).
