(11,785 posts)I don't care who uses teleprompters. Hubby pointed out the the Republicans apparently aren't, which would partially explain the word salad that comes out of their mouths.

(17,064 posts)They are living in a bubble and not paying attention to the people outside. There was plenty of red flags... Notably OWS and Congress's single digit approval ratings to name a couple.

(3,623 posts)Trot out 93% of the New Hampshire elected Democrats as endorsements and then receive 38% of the actual vote from the people. Massive disconnect there. People are sick of machine politics.

(3,919 posts)hillary's campaign has been blowing it - in many ways. tonight i heard chuckie todd say that bernie is touching the heart and soul of americans who are fed up with the status quo - and if hillary wants to be president she needs to acknowledge this truth - or something like this. he was pretty astonished.

(3,919 posts)was like this all day yesterday and most of today. even jake tapper had hillary on his show today. they were all afraid to say "bernie sanders" or acknowledge his campaign because they knew it was probable - and yet, the looks on their faces tonight....
the confident, arrogant establishment machine is in for a big change - the giant voting american public is awakening.

(18,791 posts)And Rachel was almost speechless about Bernie.
Really Rachel? Guess you are way more out of touch than I would have ever thought.
Rachel, you are a disappointment.

(10,098 posts)Always with the style, not the substance. Bernie never strays and keeps hammering home about the massive redistribution that has taken place for many, many decades.
Barack Obama knows exactly what he's doing.

(53,778 posts)It's his neighboring state.
Now that we have the Iowa and NH, both mostly all white dems, out of the way, let's see what happens now in the states where POC make up a good portion of the dem electorate.
Then we'll see if Bernie Sanders can pull POC votes that are essential to gaining the dem nomination.
hopemountain
(3,919 posts)i'm a woman and a person of color and the majority of my family are bernie sanders supporters. so, unless you are a poc you don't know what you are talking about.
brush
(53,778 posts)South Carolina will show where both candidates stand as the Iowa and NH results are really insignificant because they yield minimal delegates and don't reflect the diverse make up of the wider Democratic Party.
60% of the dems in SC are AA. The results there will be more representative of the entire party.
hopemountain
(3,919 posts)and texas. south carolina may give a hint - but it is not the most significant. poc across the nation are varied culturally. you know very well - we do not all vote the same just because someone tells us to vote a certain or expects us to just because we are poc. so, cheer up. bernie will do fine - nothing will be decided until after the june primaries. anything else is premature.

(3,919 posts)california and texas voting latinos are in the millions and educated, too. but, if it makes you feel better, believe what you want.
nothing will be decided until after the june primaries - this is an election like no other. hillary and bernie are going to ride this into the dust - just as the gop candidates are doing so, now.

(3,919 posts)tie it all onto these primaries, either. this is an election year like none other.
TTUBatfan2008
(3,623 posts)The Democrats won't win South Carolina in the general election. The media seems very dismissive of white liberals. It's as if they don't matter at all, which is bullshit. Hillary will not win the general election by running a race-baiting, attack dog campaign to tear apart Sanders in the primary. It will destroy any shred of credibility she has with his strongest supporters.
brush
(53,778 posts)And we're not talking about the general election, it's the primary that's coming up you know, to see who gets the dem nomination.
TTUBatfan2008
(3,623 posts)I have no reason to doubt what is stated in this article. I think it's a leak straight from the Clinton campaign. They even put out a memo to the media that they plan to push race a bunch in the coming weeks.
By the way, David Brock has already race-baited in this campaign against Sanders so let's not pretend the Clintons are above doing this. "Not enough black people in that TV ad, Bernie." Meanwhile Brock himself engaged in racist attacks against Anita Hill decades ago.
The Clintons played the race card against Obama as well, but all of this should just be swept under the rug...not to mention the 1990's policies that hurt everyone and especially minorities (crime bill, NAFTA, welfare reform, subprime loans, etc.)

(17,064 posts)Clinton's southern firewall is all states that will vote republican in November. Nothing is going to change that.
HooptieWagon
(17,064 posts)Just like Iowa and NH Dems being 95% white isn't representative of the country.
brush
(53,778 posts)and will decide who wins the primary, just as the 95% whites decided who won in NH.
HooptieWagon
(17,064 posts)No matter who is atop the Democratic ticket. That's the facts.
brush
(53,778 posts)The SC dem primary, I know you know this, contributes in deciding who gets the Democratic Party nomination.
Even if SC votes repug in the general, there are still 49 other states that will help decide who goes to the White House.

(5,275 posts)isn't Hillary white...a white woman, in fact?...so why would she be at a disadvantage in those two 'white' states...
the 'color of state' bullshit is specious at best...one would think whatever 'advantage' Bernie had because he is an older white man would also apply to Hillary
Bernie will be fine...it's all about the message
