we haven't spoken in more than 2 years and will probably never speak again.

my in-laws were repubs, but after watergate my father in law said "show me a politician and i'll show you a crook".

me.. my wife is feeling the Bern but may just end up caucusing with me on the 20th for Hill.......she likes Hill tho....I was undecided for a long while .. i just hope at the end of the day we all come together and defeat Trump Cruz Bush Rubio Kasich Christie or whoever the crazies put up..... I think Hillary and Bernie have great strengths and some weaknesses..... i just hope all of the pie fighting i am seeing on here and Dkos is not that severe in the real world..... I think Hillary or Bernie could beat Trump....about 75 % sure of that.. but trump has a way of lying well..

She's adamant. It's HRC or nothing. I think she just wants a woman to be President (as do I, Liz Warren would be great).

I live with an on again off again used to be Repub person I've slowly worked leftward over the last decade and a half. Dad hasn't said who he's voting for, Mom isn't really committed to either Dem specifically yet, even though she had me put a Bernie bumper sticker on her car, and my sister's family are sadly, RWers.

but yes he started out gung-ho for Hillary. "But Bernie can't win" over & over. I think we've gotten past that now.

in the news. I've told him all about Iowa and Hillary's escapades there (coin tosses, Dr. Andi, etc). I've told him about all the big rallies and millions of folks sending in their donations. No way does Hillary have that kind of support on the ground. Her support is all institutional (big banks, corporations etc).

but I convinced her to support Bernie. Daughter was leaning Hillary, but she is now for Bernie. My brother, his wife and 2 sons are all for Bernie.

I have one sister who is a pubby, so who knows what she will do. I'm hoping she is too lazy to vote.

Another sister was a Hillary supporter, but I think she is leaning Bernie now. Her gay son is in the tank for Bernie! He knows that Hillary is no friend to the gay community, until it's convenient for her.

to quote Walter S. in "The Big Lebowski"… yes Depaysement, same situation in our household: wife is for HC, and I've been feeling the Bern since the very day that he declared his candidacy back last spring.

Re: dinner conversation, or other conversation, I bring up Bernie occasionally (well, ok, OFTEN!), but wife shuts down/doesn't reply much, which (perhaps other husbands have experienced) means, drop it/don't wanna talk about it.

definitely Sympathizing……….

But me screaming at the computer wore him down...or educated him; he'd ask what was the matter and I'd read to him what HRC or her surrogates would say about Bernie then I would make him come to the computer and watch or read the fact-checking which would always make her/them look like a horse's ass.

He's feeling the Bern now. Having a loudmouthed, passionate wife is a mixed bag, I guess.

I'm pretty forceful, but if you think her primary reason for supporting HRC is because she's a woman, perhaps pointing out some facts about Bernie while holding a place open for her to feel like you're not making her wrong for her choice (no one wants to feel stupid for backing a person or idea), that's probably a good idea.

My poor, darling husband gets thumped over the head like I'm Quickdraw McGraw turned into his El Kabong character (one of my favorite childhood cartoons-guess it rubbed off on me more than I knew).
