Bernie needs to take off his gloves

He's a gentleman but needs to be a bare fisted gentleman.

Here is some bare knuckle truth:

Top Hillary Clinton Advisers and Fundraisers Lobbied Against Obamacare

Hillary Clinton is campaigning as a guardian of President Barack Obama’s progressive policy accomplishments. In recent weeks, she has called the Affordable Care Act “one of the greatest accomplishments of President Obama, of the Democratic Party, and of our country,” and promised that she is “going to defend Dodd-Frank” and “defend President Obama for taking on Wall Street.”

Meanwhile, however, Clinton’s campaign has been relying on a team of strategists and fundraisers, many of whom spent much of the last seven years as consultants or lobbyists for business interests working to obstruct Obama’s agenda in those two areas.

Consultants associated with the Dewey Square Group, a lobbying firm that has been retained by business interests to defeat a variety of progressive reforms, are playing a major role in the Clinton campaign. Charles Baker III, the co-founder of Dewey, is a senior strategist and the campaign’s chief administrative officer. Michael Whouley, another Dewey co-founder, played an early role in advising Clinton’s plan for the current campaign by convening some of the very first strategy sessions. Senior Dewey officials Jill Alper and Minyon Moore are also close advisers and fundraisers for Clinton, while at least four other Clinton officials have worked at Dewey within the last four years. In addition, disclosures show that Clinton’s Super PACs Priorities USA Action and Correct the Record have also paid Dewey Square Group for a variety of services in this election.

He just needs to emphasize "I don't do things that way." The contrast is what people like.

If he's going to make some of the criticisms that he does, I think he should come prepared with names and details. Agreed. Makes it a lot harder for her to dodge. The main thing is that he needs to do it in a way where it's not personal; rather, he can do it in a way where he says that Clinton's baggage is not the main issue, the issue is that it's merely representative of a massive level of systemic corruption.

But ultimately, you're on the right track, I think. The bottom line is, Bernie has never done things that way and it's just not in his nature. And yes, many people like that about him. If he keeps it classy and issues-oriented while Hill slings slime, then people will see things as they are, and vote accordingly. Not only that, but it will show them that when she's under pressure, she gets nasty, while Bernie can actually handle the pressure of a national election. I also think that Hillary's campaign is hoping to goad him into taking the gloves off so they can say, "Gee, where'd that principled guy go? See, he's just like the rest of us."

Well, that's one view.

The other, of course, is that he'll hang himself by his own principles--or, rather, the HillBilly will hang him by his own principles. That's a possibility, but his massive gains in the two most recent national polls (to a virtual tie!) suggest he should keep playing this the way he always has.

if you're representing Bernie with the username, don't refer to anyone as a "vaginal voter".

to counter the Bernie Bro meme. Hell I meant no offense and thought that was obvious in the post. I will gladly delete if there are more complaints. Being too touchy is not going to help things, retrowire. I thought that was pretty obvious by Steinham's comment, Sarandon's comments, and many others....

by referring to fellow Americans, no matter how crude and wrong they themselves can be, in that way.

Spread the Bern! But not in that way. Call it being "touchy" all you want but, I don't think anyone would just brush off being referred to as a "vaginal voter".

Do Bernie a favor and reconsider the vernacular. That's all I'm saying.

just told young women there was a special place in hell for those who don't support a woman.

Respected or not, all people are fallible.

Heck, Bernie himself could give the finger to someone and I'd still be inclined to say "That's not right."

and I wouldn't let the Clinton attack machine scare us away from substantively correct points.

Countering the act of voting out of preference for a female candidate is part of what we have to do, IMO. Sorry you got jumped on for it. Hopefully it was just about the term you used, which I don't see as that bad, rather than people wanting to not call out the fallacy of support based on gender.

All things being equal, I would support the female candidate (and I have already voted for a female POTUS candidate, in 2012 I voted for Jill Stein to protest Obama's appointments of and support for corporate persons and positions, I am in a safe blue state so had the liberty to do so).

All things are NOT equal, which is, in more ways than one, why I support Sanders. We don't need more people beholden to large corrporate interests, that is the problem, not the solution.

If you are a male and speak the truth about Clinton's connections to Wall Street, the war industry, the health insurance industry, etc...you are immediately called a sexist. The truth is ugly for both Clintons. It is also ugly for Obama, both Bushes, Reagan, and the rest of the corporate politicians in our country.

I just wish we didn't have the identity politics going on. Stick to the issues. Hillary wants to pretend corporate donations are only a problem for Republicans, but she is 100% wrong. They are a problem for both major parties.
