I think the media has stopped catering to Clinton; finally giving Bernie fair and positive coverage

I just noticed that CNN doesn't mention Clinton's Flint junket on their front page.

NBC News website features Bernie as their top story, "Bernie Sanders Shrugs off Albright's Foreign Policy Slam." A great article about that allows Bernie to explain his foreign-policy positions and allows him to answer attacked from Clinton's side. Nice article for Bernie!

(Clinton's Flint trip is mentioned, but not a prominent story).

CBSnews.com has nothing on their front page about Clinton/Flint

Abcnews.go.com features a short blurb about Clinton's Flint trip.

Bloomberg. Nothing. But Bill Clinton has the top story, dissing Sanders AND his supporters. This should be good. This scheme worked so well for the Clintons in 2008--mocking Obama and his supporters. Now, they're doing the same to Sanders and his supporters. I'll link to it, because I think it's an indication of Clinton failure and desperation. http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-02-07/bill-clinton-unleashes-critiques-of-sanders-and-his-supporters

I'm sure there are Clinton/Flint stories out there. Some of the outlets I mentioned above, have stories on Clinton's trip if you search for them. However, they aren't on the front page. However, I am happy to see that the core mainstream media did not bite the Clinton line on this one. Her shameless PR stunt, three days before the NH primary, was...well, shameless.

I noticed in 2008, that the media slowly turned on Hillary, due to her dirty tricks, attacking of Obama and his supporters. There was a tipping point with the media, and from that point on--no longer had such a stark advantage.

I think we've reached that tipping point in 2016. No doubt she expected top billing on this Flint story. She didn't get it.

Joe Scarborough reported as he was leaving Iowa that several prominent reporters said to him, "You know that Bernie won Iowa." It's obvious to anyone who isn't in the tank for Hillary that dirty games were played in the Hawkeye State. Even the media knows it. I don't think they appreciate being played and used by someone who is such a player and a user.

Clinton's inevitability is gone. Iowa destroyed that. New Hampshire will further solidify that Bernie is formidable and that Bernie is a viable alternative to Clinton. We struggled to bust through that "inevitable" narrative through most of the caucus-campaign season in Iowa--and still we tied. Now that her "inevitable" narrative is smashed to pieces, such great things are going to happen.

With the media is no longer in the tank for Clinton, Bernie is now garnering some of the the positive, fair press that he deserves. The Clintons can no longer look to the media as the PR wing of their campaign.

These are major paradigm shifts. Awesome glimmers of hope for what's to come for Bernie.

Now that Bernie (and more importantly, his base) has shown that he is capable putting up a serious fight nationally, the media sees more benefit in sinking its teeth into a serious horse race because, really, that sells a lot better. It's certainly not as if they suddenly grew a set of principles or journalistic integrity. Will that benefit us in the long term? We'll see. But if anything, this may just be the eye of the storm.

...and that all will be fair now.

However, I've seen huge shifts.

I began researching Bernie's speeches and campaign events in Iowa, in October. I could barely find any coverage of his rallies, some of which had 2,000 attending. The Des Moines Register had so many Clinton articles. If she spoke in Iowa, there would often be two or three stories about one of her rallies.

Bernie wasn't even assigned a regular beat reporter covering his campaign--for the Des Moines Register--until December! That's still unbelievable to me.

I do agree that a horse race probably sells more papers and snags more clicks. It's better for business.

However, media members are only human. Just like all of those people coming up to Scarborough and commenting that Bernie won. These media members know the reality. They're not dumb. They've seen how she acted and how she campaigned in 2008. I think their games and game playing may start to work against them.

Clinton used to be able to call all of the shots with the media, and Bernie had unfair coverage or barely any coverage.

We're seeing more even coverage now. Of course, Bernie will be treated unfairly and negative stories will be written in the coming days. But we're in a new chapter now, and he's broken through. We're in a better place, for sure.

First year of the campaign it was pretty much a stone cold media blackout. Almost zero TV coverage, certainly not the type of coverage given to Trump or Clinton. Only way Sanders could reach people was grassroots through Internet and word of mouth.

Asked sensible questions (vs gotcha questions) and allowed Bernie time to respond to each question.

It was so nice to see - finally!!

polling numbers keep "surging" in New Hampshire for no apparent reason. Why? How?

What is the narrative explanation for Clinton's recent supposed New Hampshire surge?
