I call it "Receptive Priming"
The general scheme here is to raise people’s awareness of the issues Bernie is campaigning on, from civil rights to free education. I believe this should be done in the early stages without mentioning Bernie’s name. Just the issues.
Everybody’s still mad at the banks and at the foreclosures, and fearful of a 2008 Rerun. Lots of other people, but not all, are very concerned about the cost of higher education, etc., but they probably don’t think about that stuff a lot unless it’s looming large in their personal lives.
The objective is to get people thinking more about those concerns with attention-grabbing vehicles for “poking” or reminding them of their feelings abut these things.
The principle is really very simple. People are more likely to attend better to Bernie’s solutions if those solutions address problems that they are already primed to care about.
Our vehicle would be the social media, personal contacts, whatever. & we could share any particularly good things to send around. We could, in fact, build some sort of library of effective e-posters & the like.
I will probably have to figure out how to finally use Facebook & Twitter if I’m gonna do my part.
We must be the primers we are looking for.
