Sanders under fire from Senate Democrats (This article sort of proves our point does it not?)

Bernie Sanders' Democratic Senate colleagues have pretty much left him alone throughout his presidential run. Most of them saw his campaign as quirky and idealistic, certainly no threat to the candidate they overwhelmingly back, Hillary Clinton.

But now, after his near-upset in Iowa and an expected victory next week in New Hampshire, it's beginning to look like open season on Sanders for Senate Democrats.

They're criticizing his platform as naive, taking exception to his criticism of Clinton as a fake progressive, and imploring the media to put the Vermont independent and self-described democratic socialist under the microscope.

I hope there are a lot of retirees come the nomination. Because they won't have a leg to stand on when Bernie comes to town.

Yet the fact that Sanders has not received a single endorsement from his Senate colleagues — and has just two House endorsements — speaks volumes, Clinton supporters say. From the liberal Brown to the moderate Joe Manchin, the caucus is nearly united for Clinton.
Sanders supporters want "to dismiss the fact that none of his colleagues have endorsed him, but you can’t,” McCaskill said. “He hasn’t had the ability to get consensus or lead people.”

Says a lot more about where they think the balance of power is....because Hillary sure didn't do shit in the Senate and never had much of a following. They are just endorsing her because she has the power brokers and rainmen shaking down the 1%. That's the old-style politics.

I can't wait until the sea change, when suddenly, they are all grassroots campaigners...or forcibly retired! It's time to get the deadwood out, once again.

Approval rating for Congress -- it soared out of single digits early last year and now a whopping 16% of the public approves of Congress. Meanwhile on the GOP side, Trump, Carson and Fiorina have taken turns commanding well over half the Republican electorate for most of the campaign. The bottom line is that the public is very angry at all of our political institutions.

I think Sanders should run a campaign commercial bragging about how 99 Senators are not for him.

It seems they view this whole election as a way to keep their little club
intact. How dare Bernie challenge the status quo? They feel their corrupt
policies are being attacked. As Bernie says this about us and where we
want to take this country, not about them!

It kind of is. MineralMan had an interesting post yesterday of a hypothetical electoral college vote that resulted in a tie between Bernie and Hillary. You can draw your own conclusions about how close to reality that analysis will ultimately come.

Let's assume Bernie continues to build momentum, and turnout spikes upward. Clearly a sign that Bernie's message is resonating. People hesitant to show up before due to the "unelectable" meme start that snowball effect, and maybe shock the political world by piercing the so-called southern firewall. Against impossible odds, Bernie makes it through to July with an actual LEAD in delegates of 100-200. What happens at the national convention?

Bernie has been calling out the misplaced priorities and downright corruption of the establishment party members. With almost 800 super-delegates up for grabs, do we watch them fulfill the coronation they have wanted all along? How much of a popular vote lead would Bernie need before they get cold feet, and ride the revolution wave with our chosen/preferred candidate?

Would they be so callous to literally stomp on the future of the party, which is overwhelmingly in favor of Bernie just for the short-term chance to keep the gravy train rolling for at least one more cycle?

The cynic in me is afraid of the answers...but I'm still not going gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the corruption of our democracy.

If we had party registration in my state I'd be changing it to Independent after the election. I'm tired of getting shitted on by the Democratic Party.

I'm sick of the shenanigans of the party and just how piss poor of a job has been done to maintain or win seats in the House, Senate, and the Gubernatorial houses. I believe President Obama has done as much as he can, but the party has not done enough to help.

All worried and angry about Bernie being popular?

They are upset that his message of fairness is catching hold, and their poor former senator buddy is losing ground and being embarrassed by her poor behavior becoming known?

Cry me a fucking river ..

Better yet, get OFF YOUR FUCKING ASSES AND DO SOMETHING TO HELP YOUR FELLOW CITIZENS!

The business of government is to be of service to it's citizens ... NOT their rich friends and NOT their rich former senator friends, especially ..

And what is Bernie's approval rating from his constituents? It seems to be around 80%, best in the country!
