Bernie Sanders

besides Warren who may not want to run, what are some other choices?
I like Martin O'Malley. People might say he has no experience at the federal level, but neither did Bush when he became president in 2000.

(1,249 posts)we both agreed our dream ticket would be Sanders/Warren.
But she probably feels she can make more of a contribution where she is, and she's probably right.

(51 posts)He would be a great VP. But, I believe, he should stay on as SOS..He is doing a great job, and I believe that it would reassure our allies, and our country! At least the first term!

(1,443 posts)Sanders extensive record shows he has far better judgment on foreign policy than any GOP candidate.
He would crush them on any debate about foreign policy.

(1,443 posts)Twenty-five years in the House and Senate working and voting on foreign policy issues isn't enough experience for you? Ridiculous talking point is ridiculous.
Sanders has much more experience on foreign policy than Obama who had none when he was elected to office in 2008. The silly republicans can keep hammering about how they want to start and expand more wars in the ME yeah that will get more people to vote for them. Most voters don't give a rats ass about foreign policy (other than we should be minding our own business and taking care of our own problems at home) and if that's all they want to talk about then great let 'em they'll be digging their own graves.

(39,313 posts)It's not his strong suit primarily because it's not his focus.
Most voters absolutely do care about foreign policy because they're watching Fox and terrified of this or that. All we need is one incident and the Repukes could win on this.

(1,443 posts)but all Bernie has to do is say one word: Iraq.
The greatest foreign policy disaster in American history, engineered by the GOP with help from establishment dems, and they are toast. Iraq is the new Vietnam. You really want these clowns running the nations foreign policy, and who will be following in the footsteps of that other clown named George Bush? Good luck with that.
