L.A. Times: Hillary Clinton's Identity Crisis

http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-0224-goldberg-hillary-clinton-5-0-20150224-column.html?track=lat-pick
-snip-
Is Hillary Rodham Clinton a McDonald's Big Mac or a Chipotle burrito bowl? A can of Bud or a bottle of Blue Moon? JC Penney or J. Crew?"

That was the opening question of a front page Washington Post story on Clinton's effort to figure out her "brand." To that end, she has recruited a team of corporate marketing specialists to "help imagine Hillary 5.0."

After decades of public life, even Clinton doesn't really know who she is -- or at least who she should be this time around.
-
"It's exactly the same as selling an iPhone or a soft drink or a cereal," Peter Sealey, a longtime corporate marketing strategist, tells the Washington Post. "She needs to use everything a brand has: a dominant color, a logo, a symbol.... The symbol of a Mercedes is a three-pointed star. The symbol of Coca-Cola is the contour bottle. The symbol of McDonald's is the golden arches. What is Clinton's symbol?"

But I am uncomfortable to hear that she doesn't appear to know who she is, or wants to be, after all these years in politics. Yes, some of this is more of a 'finding the right message', but I really don't know where she stands on most issues anymore. That may be more my fault than hers, but I hope she finds herself soon.

Once any kind of campaigning is underway Hillary's popularity will plummet. She is not convincing.

I apologize if I have hurt the feelings of Hillary supporters. But she lacks the energy necessary to carry this off. That, in addition to other obvious flaws.

His mom is Lucianne Goldberg...
the same Lucianne Goldberg of the Linda Tripp tapes.
The Monica Lewinsky, Linda Tripp tapes...

Bottom feeders, all of them.

even a broken clock is right twice a day? If Hillary doesn't know what she's about by now, and can't do so without hiring experts, that's pretty pathetic.

I'm with you, I see the post is ambiguous.

I just have a strong distaste for Jonah.
I went to school with him as an undergrad.
He hasn't changed lol

For the HRC supporters here that are looking to hide anything that isn't pro-HRC, I am not comparing her to a pig. "Putting lipstick on a pig" is a metaphor meaning that even if you put lip stick on the pig, it's still a pig. HRC can't pretend to be a progressive. It would come off as unbelievable. Obama was able to pull it off, but HRC couldn't in 2008 and she can't now.
