Shameful Acceptance of Massacres.

If twenty first graders massacred with assault weapons cannot change the political culture that protects gun owners and which promotes gun ubiquity in this country then certainly nine dead black folks won't unfortunately.

This country long ago accepted a political bargain: we keep our guns and are willing to accept a certain number of gun massacres a year as the cost for keeping them. We'll even participate in the periodic shaming and mourning process that follows each massacre but we keep our guns. That ship sailed a long time ago, people, and as tragic as this stuff is our country, which cannot make a political decision about anything, has made an irrevocable decision about guns.
