An Open Invitation to All to Join the Interfaith Group

Hi y'all!

I'm the group host for the new Interfaith group and would like to invite everyone to check it out. It's like the Religion group, without all the flamebait and fighting. We hosts and members want to keep it a nice place to visit, read, and participate, and welcome all those that would like to discuss religious and similar topics without the fear of being attacked for your beliefs or non-belief.

Here's the SOP, to help:

A safe haven that provides opportunities for people of all faiths, spiritual leanings and non-belief to discuss religious topics and events in a positive and civil manner, with an emphasis on tolerance. Criticisms of individual beliefs or non-belief, or debates about the existence of higher power(s) are not appropriate in this group.

I'll be bumping this thread about once a month, too, just to get more eyes on it regularly.

Hope to see y'all there!

A safe haven, in my opinion, establishes a completely different atmosphere than the regular discussion groups and forums.

Simply put it means that we support each other.

There is a place and a time to lock heads and fight out strongly felt issues, namely in GD or Religion group.

This is not one of those places.

This is where we can meet and appreciate each other's faith journeys and support each other.

For those seeking to demean, objectify, ridicule, minimize, condescend, satirize, or just generally make people uncomfortable about their religion, please find the other places at DU where those efforts are considered 'in bounds'.

It is not appropriate at the 'Interfaith Group'.

If you enjoy hearing about and sharing generally about metaphysical issues and different faith traditions then you will find the Interfaith Group a welcoming community.
