Is the same standard for appropriate posts being observed

Just saw a humorous albeit political post locked in the lounge
Then I saw a post about teens killing 6 people. Is that appropriate for the lounge?

I'm sorry to complain, but aren't there other forums more suitable for harsh reality?

1. If you feel that a post is inappropriate for a forum, you can alert on it.

There's an option for that specifically: Don't violate a forum or group's Statement of Purpose

The teens post does sound like something more in line with the General Discussion forum than the Lounge.

I actually have read most of Shakespeare's comedies, tragedies and poetry. There were some I couldn't get copies to read.

3. Sometimes people post in the wrong forum by mistake.

If a post is in the wrong forum it will be alerted on. If you see a post in the Lounge that doesn't seem to belong there because it's about politics or other non-Lounge topics, just alert on it.

6. Alerting on a post violating a group's statement of purpose does not cause the poster to be punished

The hosts of the group/forum (not a jury) get that kind of alert, and they just lock it if they agree with the alert (which means nobody can reply to any posts in the thread) . It doesn't count as a "hide" or a "post removed" which only a jury can dish out.

Lots of people get posts locked in Latest Breaking News, for example.

Hosts can more drastically block someone from posting in the group/forum, but it's rare unless someone is a multi-repeat offender and is trying to be a jerk.

or I wouldn't have asked about it. I'm happy to scroll on by. I was asking more about how the policy is applied, rather than wanting something alerted on.

9. I know what you're referring to. That Lounge post content was clearly a joke, parody, like The Onion.

I was surprised it was locked because I thought humor/parody/sarcasm was appropriate in The Lounge. If not, then posts of links to things like The Onion & the Borowitz Report, or even videos of comedians, should be off-topic too.
