Hi my Democratic friends!

I grew up in WV during the 60's. I watched the T.V. intensly with my family during the death of J.F.K. and later Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy. My mother used to say when the Republicans come in the country suffers. Mom is 83 years old and still says that. Although it was hard to get her to vote for Obama she came around. She was so afraid that someone in our small town was going to burn our house down when I put up Obama signs in our yard in "08". Today she has a Black family living across from her and at the side of her and she loves them "such nice people"!

I am a teacher (over 35 years) public and private schools in WV. I am a mother of four. Three are through college and I'm still stiving to get my youngest through with student loans. I found out I have breast cancer in February. My medical bills are high and I do have insurance. Everything Obama defends is an issue that effects me. I want to help out! So, if I have to write and write I will. I have one more year of teaching and I will be able (hopefully) to draw my SS and retirement. I am leary about retiring with all that is going on. The Republicans are scary! The school I teach in is an Exemplary School. We have a Black principal. So, if President Obama wants to come to visit I'm inviting. Ha, ha!!!

I have 4 grandchildren; three grandsons and one grandaughter. I'm not a Spring chicken.
But, I can use my umbrella and whack a few Republican men if I have to. Anyway, this is a great place and I'm glad a friend showed it to me.

I've worked with many West Virginians who were transferred to my area & who are still good friends of mine. I know West Virginians as being very witty & down to earth.

It sounds like you're going to fit in nicely here. I'm glad you found us!
