DU Community Help
Related: About this forumHi I'm Jillan - a proud Dem in Az - Welcome to DU and remember
this is only a discussion forum.
Discussions can get pretty heated up around here, and just like anywhere, there are people that debate - and others who attack. Don't ever take those attacks personally ~ and if you find yourself taking offense to how someone replied to your post ~ you can either state your case, or ignore that thread ~ read another thread, visit another website, walk the dog ~ just don't let posters get to you.
Hope you stick around.
DemocraticUnderground is unique because you learn so much.
You can go to websites like Huffington Post and read headlines, but what "DU" offers is the grassroots perspective.
You find out what is happening behind these stories. You find out what the news isn't reported.
You get to read all the relevant political cartoons around the country - and at times - the world.
Plus - there are many groups that are not political.
You can talk about gardening, pets, movies, family - etc.
Another thing about DU that makes it unique is making online friends. 4 years ago a few of us connected because we were for the same Presidential candidate (Biden). I chat with these people almost every day. We know all about each other, discuss personal problems with each other and more. And we have never met in person! It's crazy - but that's what an online community like DU can offer you.

(66,467 posts)It's a good thing kids aren't political, or I might not have loved living there so much. Someday, Arizona will be blue; I can sense it...
