Lane Bryant Nails It With Their #ImNoAngel Campaign

I am not a thin woman. There, I said it. It’s the thing no one wants to admit, but I believe in owning my body so I have to admit it. I’ve been surrounded by thin people my entire life: I grew up figure skating and in ballet classes. I went to undergrad in NYC. Even back in those days, when I was extremely fit, I was never thin. It’s just not in my DNA.

Curvy. Voluptuous. Fluffy. Thick. These are all the words that have been used to describe my body. I don’t really care which one you use, as long as it’s respectful. I’m not here to be anyone’s fetish.

I may love my body, but lemme tell you – the fashion industry doesn’t. Rarely am I able to purchase items in my size in stores; it’s online for me. Once you get out of the straight sizes, the fashion options are drastically reduced. It’s as if designers think people over a size 14 don’t have style. Sure, there are options other than mumus, but that’s not saying much.

When it comes to lingerie, the options are even slimmer. (See what I did there? Ha!) Those cute, sexy bras you see on the slim models rarely exist when you click the tab for plus sizes. It’s quite depressing.

She loves the Lane Bryant lingerie line and the fact that she can shop in person and not just online for her size. The pretty lingerie makes her feel great all the way down to her skin.
