You won't believe what just turned up on my browser

at work! It's definitely NSFW, children, or any civilized human being.

It's an online rape game called "Sex Gangters."

It's awful. It's an animated game that starts with a man looking at drunk women passed out on the couch. He then grabs one of them and drags her across the floor. It then goes to a page where you click on London to find women there. That's when I stopped. This is on my WORK computer. It just popped up!

Computer games reenacting rape, and some insist there is no such thing as rape culture?!!!!

Ironically, this morning I gave a ride to a young woman who dropped out of college because she was raped last year by a football player. The college stood behind him, and he was acquitted in court. He's back playing for that Western university this year, and she didn't want to go back there. One year away from a degree in psychology, she gave up a scholarship and is now working at a sub shop.

That folks is the reality of rape culture.

It might have come from a meme generator site I went to. I don't think it came from here because I don't see ads. I can't download spotify on my work computer but this comes up?

3. SMH. As if there aren't already enough forces working against humanity and civility and good.

Up pops a game glorifying the worst of these.

I looked at the link, the only thing that could be worse, I suppose, is if they kill and dismember and eat the victims when done.

How do these fuckers live with themselves, what kinds of lives to they live?

Are they surrounded by friends and family who think it's OK?

5. I haven't read these discussions. "Discussions" almost sounds like there are more than one POV.

And if I read a post or reply suggesting that such things are OK or victimless, I'd probably go nuts and lose my posting privileges.

I admire you for fighting the good fight, if you're in those discussions.

Usually, I'm capable of grasping conflicting POVs in the interest of productive discussion.

In this case, with this topic, I know my limitations. I have no room in my heart for it.

Again, thank you.

It's sad how pervasive the support for rape culture really is

... no matter how violent, sexist, or abhorrent, you'll have scores of posters down on your head maintaining that these "games" have nothing to do with real life and to "lighten up".

how horrible that such a game exists--that a "human" (although I find that term questionable" being could think that RAPE is entertainment, a game.

I am so very sorry you were exposed to this vile hatred.
