"If someone has to be paid to consent to something, they have not actually consented to it but have rather agreed not to make their non-consent an issue in exchange for money." -Nine Duece
I agree wholeheartedly, of course.
Thoughts?

(10,103 posts)I live close to boy's town, and this used to be the stroll. I have talked to prostitutes of both sexes.
I will add though, that the man who uses prostitutes wouldn't ask his wife or girlfriend to do some of the things he pays for. Why? Because he feels that the things he asks for are shameful, and he will pay for the services rather than ask for consent.

i think that is the wrong question. instead. if he said, here is the money, no sex necessary, would she be relieved?

(11,546 posts)and then what is the meaning of consent. The dictionary says it is to permit, agree, or comply. When we get "consent" at the hospital, a person must also be aware of the consequences and be consenting with free will. I know that we are talking about two totally different situations but I think that free will is a part of consent (a part that the dictionary leaves out, unfortunately). For a prostitute to truly give consent, I feel that free will MUST be there.
