There are a number of factors left out making that OP essentially meaningless. What's he trying to say? it makes no sense to me.

Is it flame bait?

I'm done indulging self-pity. Just become one person feels inadequate doesn't make all men oppressed. People need to learn to distinguish between their own personal baggage and political ideology. They aren't the same.

So true, of so many. But probably right-wing MRA's, homophobes, and racists most of all.

They seem to be stepping over their own premises as there's another thread in which women are said to be actually privileged due to the fact they have a "choice" as to whether to work or not.

Sometimes we just have to realize that we're not in fact, dealing with simple idiots, but rather with individuals who are willfully untruthful to both themselves and to others in order to maintain and validate the biases and bigotries they may hold.

(That's not to paint any one particular poster with the colors of deceit and dishonesty though... as that's done easily enough simply by reading posts.)

At Sat Oct 5, 2013, 11:17 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

At it again
http://www.democraticunderground.com/125527191

REASON FOR ALERT:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS:

Call out of another DU member. This makes DU suck.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Oct 5, 2013, 11:33 PM, and the Jury voted 2-4 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Not disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or in-appropriate. I don't think this makes DU suck, this is a safe haven group where the poster is making the post, and I don't see a "call out" so much as a link.

I see no reason to hide.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

How does linking to a post make DU suck?

entering the workforce, being paid less, after centuries of not having the same opportunities and still not having the same opportunities.

Yep MRA logic, for sure.

is terribly oppressive. Also it makes the group taking away the unearned advantage a big bunch of meanies.

ETA: And hold on thar.

These posters who are decrying the reduction of men in the workforce and the increase of women? Aren't many of them the same ones as were, in another post, stating their 1950's opinion that only women are "allowed" to be stay-at-home and men are not?

The only thing that OP is showing is that more men are now in the position that many of the stay-at-home women have historically held: there are no jobs out there for which they qualify, for which they can get themselves hired, which will have a hope in hell of paying the bills.

And the OP is also showing that, more than ever before, those men who are not working are likely to be in a household in which the women is the breadwinner.

Do these guys ever read their own posts?

more women are working than men, which automatically is translated into women are taking jobs from men. But, but wait. Men gravitate towards jobs that require more strength and are dangerous, which is why men earn more money. Where women gravitate towards lower paying jobs, that men don't want because well, the pay is low. So how exactly are women replacing men in the workforce? circular logic.

This is the same logic I hear from the right wing nuts about illegal immigrants taking all those farm jobs that 'Mericans are fighting for.

What I see is that because of the economy, men are taking jobs behind the registers, in the classrooms, etc. are finding out those wages suck. Because jobs are hard to find, paying men what they would pay a woman will be the new norm.

Seems to me if more people joined the fight for equality and living wages in the workplace decades ago instead of swimming in terms like feminazi, both sexes would be better off in today's economy. Just think if women had truly earned the same pay as men across the board when the economy crashed. Instead of men being dragged down to women's wages in the fight for jobs, wages would have had the same median point for everyone.

So some men blame women, just like rwnj's blame illegals. But it is never, ever the wage payer who earns millions/billions while paying those low wages.
