IMNSHO, those that traffic women would also traffic children.

The 13th amendment abolished slavery in the United States and provides that "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

Now, knowing this, think about how many more black people are incarcerated. Think about chain gangs. Think about for-profit prisons.

"But thanks to Reaganomics, prisons turned to profits
Cause free labor is the cornerstone of US economics
Cause slavery was abolished, unless you are in prison
You think I am bullshitting, then read the 13th Amendment
Involuntary servitude and slavery it prohibits
That's why they giving drug offenders time in double digits" - Killer Mike

...the government engages in numerous illegal activities and files them under different names. For example: when is murder not murder? (When you categorize it as war and call it a drone strike.)

You'd think all you'd have to say is 'there are more slaves now than at any other time in human history' and people would take it seriously. Instead there's no small amount of pushback. Maybe it's just too big of a problem for some people to face... I dunno.

and the fact that so many countries are involved that it is a good reason to institute some type of Global Court System to carry out the justice. Where does one even start in charging someone must less which country will hear the cases?

An English girl is abducted by a Turkish man and is abused in Italy ... so complicated.

Your OP is what got me thinking.

Please feel free to add a new thread with the link.

A personal quote from Famke Janssen: "As long as corruption exists, human trafficking will likely flourish. I'd like to give something back on an issue that matters to me." Filming the movie 'Taken' with Liam Neeson prompted her to take action in the real fight against corruption. She now serves as the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Office against Drugs and Crime.
