Anti-feminist, MRA propaganda vs. *actual* concern for men.

Note the fact that in this image, the advertiser had chosen to waste valuable space in order to bellyache and cry about feminists.

If this had been an outreach effort from someone who was actually invested in helping these male victims of domestic violence, the message wouldn't have veered off into batshit crazy land.

I'm seeing way too many well-meaning women getting suckered into assisting these dangerous, anti-woman pieces of shit in spreading their propaganda.

If you see crap like this being passed around, please point out that it's not about helping men, it's about attacking feminists.

regardless of the gender of the perpetrator and victim. Courts do prosecute and issue restraining orders against women, though I imagine there are some in built prejudices in the system. I don't know the data. But to blame this on feminists is, as you say, pure hyperbole and evidence of a clear anti-women agenda.

A quick google search came up with thousands of hits on where a man can seek help for domestic abuse, from counseling and legal help to shelters. Shelters that receive funding from the government can not discriminate based on sex. The same with VAWA, that the republicans blocked for months. So I would suggest that republicans are at fault, not feminism.

By blaming feminists it absolves themselves from being part of the solution. I hear this kind of crap all the time on my local site. There were marches and protests for Treyvon Martin, but none for the baby that was killed in Georgia. I always tell them that nothing is stopping them from organizing a march for that child. *crickets*

The same thing with whoever came up with that graphic. Instead of whining, why don't they work towards a solution.

I am seeing more news reports of women getting prosecuted for domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, murder, etc. against both males and other females. Last year the DoJ expanded federal rape definitions to better prosecute female rapists. Its a good thing for equality.

The belief that one gender is weaker and not capable of seriously damaging the other is patriarchy.

And to the main discussion of the OP. I'll admit that I have a hard time separating abusive women from feminism in my mind as well because I had a very bad experience with an abusive female partner who really was a gender studies professor at my school who helped shape feminist ideas and policy. I'm getting better though. My most recent girlfriend called herself a feminist but she was very nice and fun to be with.

win for me. win for men. win for us.

you will have to tackle the testosterone myth. i read today that when we say women have balls is it because of testosterone that allows aggressiveness. women use to direct it withing. more and more women are allowing it out to others. we were raised to be "nice girls". not so much anymore and we are seeing the same aggressiveness with women. we need to challenge the testosterone bullshit. cant have it both ways. taking ownership of increased women aggressiveness and it is all about the men and their testosterone.

You know actually its far more than a male/female thing, which is why they call it intimate partner violence. There is the GBLTQ community, the deaf community, the undocumented worker community, various ESL communities. Etc.

To try to make this about Feminists vs. men is also ironic, because while its true that men are an under served DV population, it's feminists who are leading the way to stop the pain and the shame of reporting in ALL intimate partner violence situations. And it's feminists working to get convictions.

These guys got their heads so far up their asses it's no wonder they see the world through shit colored glasses.
