On edit:

This hits home! My best friend, a gay man, is one of the only men I have ever felt safe riding in a car with. My ex-husband did swerve looking at women sometimes. He was a bad driver to begin with...

My other ex- was a motorhead and sometimes would absolutely terrify me with his "just testing it" driving maneuvers. Argh! Finally wouldn't ride with him at all, then got smart and dumped him. He wasn't looking at other women though, he was looking for junk cars to scarf up cheap! And what a cheap bastard, he was.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS:

Bigoted hate speech.

I've seen people from this same clique have things less offensive hidden.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Mon May 27, 2013, 06:11 PM, and the Jury voted 0-6 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: The alerter needs to find forums where his thin skin is sufficient to protect his sensitivities.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Relax and have a laugh
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: It is a joke. Get a sense of humor. The little ROFL was a clue that this was being laughed at and not "agreed with" but many people in the thread will make silly comments because it is FUNNY. Sheesh.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: WTF??? The alerter needs to learn about satire. What a moran!!!111!!!
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Don't know the history-it's a silly joke.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

Dude slowly ran into the guy in front of him at a red light because the girl was smoking hot wearing next to nothing. While the intention of this was to mock the justification for some dress codes, I actually find this to be a very good argument in favor of men not driving and dress codes.

I don't actually buy that argument, but I think it actually has some merit. I however think that girls are one of the best selling points of education, especially higher education where the ratios have turned the traditional male female dynamics on their head.

If we can learn, in general, not to text and drive, not to drink and drive, not excessively leering and driving should be a piece of cake. Besides, you gotta be a little creepy to lose that much control while ogling in the first place.

But yes I'm sure we can over come the million of years of evolution that have hardwired the way men look at women into our brains. It isn't creepy it's evolution. By the same token leering isn't required to cause a car crash even the slightest distraction can cause a crash, even sneezing can cause a crash. Right after you teach men not to look at women start teaching people to learn how not to sneeze or yawn.

People as a rule are unfit to drive, the sooner we pass it off to the robots the better.

Things men evolved to do, look at beautiful women.

Things men didn't evolve to do, drive a two ton weapon on wheels at speeds in excess of 15 miles an hour in a consistent and responsible manner.

The way men look at women doesn't differ that much from the way women look at men. Or women looking at women or men looking at men. Lust or admiration isn't confined to gender. Men are simply sexually entitled. We're working on that. There's a difference between admiration and harassment.

Women are culturally taught to be more discreet perhaps, but any "looking" to the point of being unsafe in a vehicle is learned not to mention dumbass, behavior.

Or all men would do it and this article would be more than satire.

I kind of agree about driving though. I hate to drive, so I do as little as possible. Why? Other drivers.

Lucky for women me have a vested interest in keeping their tenders under wrap. On the other hand it is a lot harder for a woman to hide her buttocks. I've looked at the eye movement studies, the reactions are too fast to be voluntary, the shapes are hardwired to draw the eye. This isn't privilege it biology.

But as a heterosexual female, and not compelled by women, I find shapely male buttocks quite attractive. In regular jeans.

I still wouldn't cause a car accident.

Why are you supposing it's the male who makes the mating choices?

Privlege?

Male privilege is a set of privileges that are given to men as a class due to their institutional power in relation to women as a class. While every man experiences privilege differently due to his own individual position in the social hierarchy, every man, by virtue of being read as male by society, benefits from male privilege.

The male butt has nowhere close to the draw for women as the female butt does for the man. The female reaction to a penis is the most dramatic but of course these tend to be covered up in most of the world.

And dangly bits aren't nearly as attractive as toned muscularity. Like Vin Diesel.

Are you talking about the relatively wider pelvis bones in a woman? You're confusing me a bit here.
You're saying, scientifically, hetero-males are more attracted to female butts than hetero-females are attracted to males? Or that the kinetic motion of a female-- say walking-- commands more attention by nature of physical movement?

When expose to a nude male female test subjects would look at the penis first then the shoulders then the face and then back to the penis where it would linger the longest. This is a totally involuntary reaction that just happens. There was just anew study out a few weeks about about this charting female responsiveness to penis sizes.

Not having seen the study, is that it's not so much instinctual as due to the fact genitalia are generally covered up, as you noted. Shock value as it were. And the differences between a flaccid penis and an erect one can be significant.

In fact on edit, does the study involve erect or flaccid penises when judging responsiveness?

Things mental discipline allows us to do: concentrate on the task at hand-- regardless of evolution.

Everything else is simply an excuse. A rather idiotic excuse.

It only takes a fraction of a second for an accident to happen. Eye motion studies show that the man will look at a butt even before he knows it is a butt, it's to quick to be anything but involuntary.

People can't drive cars well and never will be able to, it is a simple fact with a giant body count to back it up.
