From the Stuff You Already Knew department: The Tangle of the Sexes

MEN and women are so different they might as well be from separate planets, so says the theory of the sexes famously explicated in John Gray’s 1992 best seller, “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus.”

Indeed, sex differences are a perennially popular topic in behavioral science; since 2000, scientific journals have published more than 30,000 articles on them.

That men and women differ in certain respects is unassailable. Unfortunately, the continuing belief in “categorical differences” —men are aggressive, women are caring — reinforces traditional stereotypes by treating certain behaviors as immutable. And, it turns out, this belief is based on a scientifically indefensible model of human behavior.

My criteria for getting dressed in the morning is to pick up the closest articles of clothing and test "does it smell OK"

On the other hand my BF is always shopping and preoccupied with clothes

i have always been into looking nice, and i do, but not much effort and not a lot of thought. comfort priority.

so, being the rads that we are. is it the personality that allows us to be a rad, that innately does not have the clothes horse bug?

it is unusual to have three women cheer not being into shopping.

one of the stereotypes i hate the worst, being attributed to me for being female. shopping. i HATE it. i HATE people (especially men) tell me life is all better with a little shopping. wtf?

glass of wine, sure.

shopping, no.

I HATE shopping for clothes, and especially shoes (except flip flops -- I love me some flip flops & 75% of my shoe rack is filled with flips & sandals).

I primarily shop online for clothes now and from three sources ('cause I know how their sizes run). I prefer trying on something in MY bathroom with MY mirror and in MY lighting. Anything that doesn't fit (which is rare) or just looks totally ridiculous on me, goes straight back. No muss, no stress, no fuss.
