I'm sorry if this is a dupe, but it's so ugly & says so much about "slut shaming" and rape culture,

and how it even affects even child porn, I had to post.

http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/brooklyn/city-dot-supe-busted-kidde-porn-charges-article-1.1276752

If the video plays, you will hear a rather graphic account of what this man had on his computer.

one of them is a picture of a "two or three year old with a man's penis in her mouth".

The other, which I believe goes to that "shaming" and culture I mentioned was

A "Five or Six Year Old lying on a bed with her genitals exposed, and scrawled in Red Letters on her

stomach, the message: "I AM A SLUT -- HURT ME"

he is such a good son, good uncle, good cousin, good worker, nice to little 'ol ladies, gave blood, gave a homeless guy ten bucks once, helped a woman with a cane board the train, adopted a dog from the shelter, doesn't cheat on his taxes, sends his mother a card on her birthday, (every year) feeds his goldfish every day, doesn't text while driving...........

A remarkable human being he is, isn't he?

for little girls?, for women, anything female?

I can't even IMAGINE that level of ugliness.

As I learned in my Sociology of Deviance class, most deviants are not

very "different" from other people outside of their particular deviance.

just a reporter telling the story, along with her brief interviews with two

mothers in the area whose kids went to the public school Mr. Scum lived directly

across from. That, and the verbal description I gave you plus some details

on the scumbag, his name, job, etc.

Because I'm pretty confident that if rape culture was nonexistent in this country, men like this would still exist. "Culture" didn't make him this guy way; say what you will about today's culture, but NO ONE who isn't a criminal is pushing pictures of naked 5 year olds on our sons and nephews. This isn't a bunch of high schoolers standing around high-fiving each other for violating a drunk classmate; these are psychologically fucked-up predators who do what they do in secret, as they have since time immemorial.

So, I'm not sure how you can take ANYTHING these "people" do as a reflection of the culture at large. If slut-shaming didn't exist, they'd still be willing to hurt children and brand them "sluts."

with regard to "slut shaming".

The very CONCEPT of a "slut" is reflective of a sexual double standard

that PENALIZES and "dirties" women for sex, but not men, and this, in turn, springs

from a male dominant, misogynistic culture.

If the concept of the "slut" didn't exist, it couldn't be applied to grown WOMEN,

let alone little girls.

respect women or not, since a) they're already incurable sexual predators b) some of them, like those NAMBLA freaks, fool themselves into thinking they act out of mutual love not hate, and c) many target little boys as well, and may likely refer to them as "sluts" also?

If the words written next to the photo were "I'M AN ANGEL -- LOVE ME" would it make any of this any less disturbing and anger-inducing? I'd rather concentrate on segments of our culture we can actually fix--or, are worth fixing.

(DISCLAIMER: most of the above comes out of years of watching Law and Order: SVU, but its backed up by the occasional news story)

and I'm having a hard time understanding how you're not able,

or perhaps not willing to make the connection.

Of COURSE child molestation is hideous in it's own right, regardless of the child's gender

or what is "inscribed" on them, but, as stated above, most molested children ARE girls,

and it's possible to get what might be called "secondary" insights from the details of the crime committed against them.

And this is why; take the actual pornography out of it---or replace the child porn with adult actors dressed as children--common enough, and not hard to find.

What you have then is the "consenting adults meme" and while I have no wish to interfere with the sex life of others, certain things are so commonly fetishized they become protected by this meme--say Japanese school girls, VERY popular porn and you end up with what is essentially pedo apology. Same thing for rape and rape apologists. And that is part of rape culture, the legal availability of this type of 'forbidden' sex. We have here an actual situation with a POS who'll spend a few years in a special offenders unit. Then he'll be let out. It's not that nobody cares, but nobody cares enough; enough to take a good look at exactly what we find erotic and an honest answer why.

Far too much of what is considered erotic is all a power play.
