On my way to my daughters

A public thought of wish and hope of goodwill to all those who have no family, or lost family members, who are homeless, who are in pain, or to whom life seems unbearable during the holidays; we are here, some of us are reaching out homeless shelters, domestic violence centers, soup kitchens at crises centers. We Care. We are here and you are not forgotten

Hope you're having a wonderful holiday season

And the same of course to all the Hoffers, hope your hearts are filled with love and light. <3

We had a white Christmas here, which is a rare treat for us. I have the fire going and I'm about to fix myself a drink before getting started cleaning up.

Here's to a new year filled with hope and joy, and an increasing awareness of our interconnectedness with each other and the world around us.

if we are not going to do it for each other, who will.

i was sittin' at the christmas table last night. my nephew brought his gf, a woman (21) i had never met. she was telling of sittin on santas lap the night before at a party. how uncomfortable she was as this old man was making sexual comments embarrassing her in front of all. and how she sat there, taking it, totally uncomfortable, because NO ONE stood up for her and she did not know how to do it for herself. there was three women at our dinner table that were angry, looking at her face of disgust telling the story. and at least three other teen boys, that were angry, that no one stood up for her that night.

then i see you post.

it is important.

got talked into that? Even if someone were taking a photo, I would not have done it. There is a point past creepy, where you have to say "No." I guess we all have our levels, our thresholds.. Its too bad they were all not there, and would have put their foot down.

or hurt the perverts feelings. he is a man after all. a man that has feelings. and treating a woman in this manner is just part of being a man. mans behavior. it is the womens place to understand this and suck it up. and at every instance, it is our place to stroke the male ego. so often we hear, we must be sensitive to the male ego.

you experienced it. and i place you in exactly the same position. i felt it too. i understand. speak out, or stay quiet or try to say it in a way to not offend or hurt feelings, instead of just calling it out for what it is.

take something so simple as standing in line. and some creepy old man tells you.... smile. most of us try to satisfy him without hurting his feelings, when reality we should eb saying, why the fuck are you telling me to smile? are you going to say the same to the man behind me?

we have our roles.

this girl was young. she had her role. the people around knew santa (grandpa) was inappropriate, but they didnt want to hurt his feelings. his feelings took priority over the girl. ok, 21, young woman. but damn.... did she look young.

damned busy.Cooking,cleaning,shopping,wrapping,etc. The last of my Xmas guests just left,we started opening presents at 10:00 am with immediate family and the open house started at noon. Damn I'm tired and ,as much as I hate to admit it, I'm glad Christmas is over!
