1. there was an article and they described the woman as his mistress. why? how is she

a mistress. two adulters. both married. both using each other. neither planned on divorce. doubt there was much there but ego for him.

but, certainly not a mistress. i think they sold her short.

is he a mister'ess?

i think there is a lot more going on with her than we know. the sex and affair is irrelevant. i dont know specifically what you are talking about. i think she is an user. she is connected, clever, attractive, and i think she is using it. for what, we are not sure yet.

i think he was an old fool.

where are you coming from.

Blaming her for the affair is bullshit.

He also had a family and a wife. Perhaps there is more to the story, it's just annoying to me that she has been "blamed" for the whole thing.

Checkout the news stories... they are ready to vilify her... not HIM... HER!

into him. the very strong majority of duers called bullshit on that thread.

you are absolutely right. they were both married. they are both users. and they are both responsible for humiliating their mates in public. that is about as far as i take that part of all this.

now.... i am interested in wtf she was actually up to and what all the canton, rove, benghazi connection is.

Men will be men. blah, blah, etc.. It seems the women get blamed all the time for adultery more so than the men. The only time a woman gets sympathy is if a middle aged married man has an affair with a very young woman, then he might be blamed for being a jerk because she might have gotten seduced by his charm and was too naive to know any better. (I have heard it said about such affairs.)

Asshole warmonger, but yeah. Behaving like asses and hurting others out of selfish desire is not a problem specific to a woman in these situations, for sure.

8. not just her but the Kelley twins

Typical of DU it's all about the evil Mata Hari women complete with all kinds of sexist slurs and innuendos. Meanwhile these despicable generals go whistling into the shadows innocent as lambs.

The most compelling info to come out of this scandal is Broadwell claiming publicly in a speech that the CIA was holding prisoners in Benghazi which was the reason for the attack. She didn't just pull this out of her ass, and she wouldn't have been so stupid as to say anything about it had she known it was illegal for the CIA to be doing this. But is anyone talking about this? No. Anyone talking about where she got this info she was so confident about that was OBVIOUSLY Petreaus? No. All this skepticism of where she got all those documents and what they were doing in her house when the OBVIOUS answer is Petreaus fucking gave them to her since the whole reason she was there at all was as his personal self-promoting biographer to write and speak glowingly about him. Why anyone is talking about Jill Kelley's twin sister is anyone's guess since she has nothing at all to do with any of it - just another female to disparage.

10. Behind the Headlines—Sharing the Spotlight with David Petraeus

Imagine an exceptional lieutenant-colonel, an intelligence officer in the Army Reserve with security clearance to classified information. An officer who graduated with honors from West Point and became a doctoral student at King's College in London and at Harvard, studying military leadership, organizational and management theories, and U.S. foreign, defense, and intelligence policies—later, winning assignments with the U.S. intelligence community, U.S. Special Operations Command, and an FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. He lived, worked, or traveled in over 60 countries—in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East—during more than15 years of military service in geopolitical analysis and counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations. He also served on executive boards focused on supporting wounded warriors, veterans’ issues, women’s leadership, public-private partnerships in national security, and weapons manufacturing and distribution.

Now, imagine him as having ‘expressive green eyes,’ ‘toned arms,’ and ‘seductively exposed armpits.’

What? You say.

The officer is real, but a woman: Lieutenant-Colonel Paula Broadwell. The demeaning, objectifying description of her is real, too.

11. I think I going to ask my daughter about this
Mon Nov 19, 2012, 08:02 PM
Nov 2012

I've been trying to ignore the whole thing.

She is distressingly conservative after her stint in the army, but generally fair minded. I find she buys into the 'its the woman's fault' bullshit quite easily. ( she must have forgotten all the hours she worked out in the gym wearing her 'don't fuck with me face, or the many visits to to army chaplain over what she called "swinging dicks" while deployed in Afghanistan)

Both parties are guilty. My male, married coworker thinks Petraeus is a complete asshole ( he's been married for many years and simply doesn't 'get' infidelity. He's a nurse so it's not like he's not around women all day; he finds the behavior abhorrent)

To describe this women in terms of sexual attractiveness is typical crap brought to you by the patriarchy. It makes me tired

believe, i am demanding the same role as they place the general. a cheater. plain and simple. not a mistress, or seductress, or a victim, or the instigator. simply a person who cheated.

i read an article, was given an article to read. gonna have to see if i can find it. about this.
