During her nine-minute video, the teen explains in handwritten notes that she was in Grade 7 when she was lured by an unidentified male to expose her breasts via webcam. She says that a year later, she received a message from a man on Facebook threatening that if she didn't give him a show, he would send the webcam picture to her friends and family. She says police later told her the man followed through with his threat. Anonymous published the name and address of a Vancouver-area man that the group claims was bullying and preying on Todd via the internet. The activist group, which often uses a caricature Guy Fawkes mask as its logo, claims the 32-year-old man has also made postings to child pornography sites.

Two dozen RCMP investigators have been assigned to look into the bullying, which could bring charges of criminal harassment. A spokesman told CBC News Monday that police are aware of the social media speculation about Todd’s alleged tormentor, but would not comment further.

A national child anti-exploitation group, cybertip.ca, says it received a tip almost a year ago about Todd. A concerned citizen contacted the organization last November to report that images of Todd were being circulated online, said spokeswoman Signy Arnason. "We did receive one report, and that was passed along to law enforcement as well as child welfare," Arnason said Monday. "It was not a report from her, but it was a report from a concerned citizen."

The kind of sexual exploitation described by Todd is part of a seedy cyber-underworld that targets young girls and it is not bullying, but a vicious crime that should be pursued even after her death, say child advocates. "Threats are a very common tactic utilized by individuals in their attempts to extort more information off of the kids," said Arnason, whose group will release a report on online luring later this week.

this bothers me in so many ways....

hey LOOK, a WILLING girl putting picture out there for men to get off on. oh WAIT, NOT a willing GIRL having her picture put out there, AGAINST her will as men get off on it.


i was so angry yesterday hearing about this girl. and later reading an article about a 13 yr old girl killing herself. being called a prostitute, slut, and never kissed a boy. killed herself. ended her life. and another a week prior.

i had a rant with my niece yesterday. a college. how to get away with rape. written on the bathroom wall of the mens bathroom in a coed dorm. a tshirt at another college with a bruised woman being roasted like a pig made up by frat boys and worn around college. reddit creep shots. face book allowing the sexism and discussion of violence against women.

i do not know how young girls develop in this atmosphere.

Anonymous is claiming that Kody Maxson, a 30-year-old (former?) Facebook employee living in New Westminster, British Columbia, is the man who allegedly harassed Vancouver-area 15-year-old Amanda Todd so relentlessly that she took her own life on Oct. 10. In their YouTube video, a Guy Fawkes-outfitted anonybro with an auto-tuned voice reports that Anonymous has discovered a connection between Maxson and Todd, and it looks pretty damning.

Linking to a Pastebin page with Maxson's personal information, Anonymous lays out pretty specific personal information. Vice takes it a step further by publishing information that allegedly connects the two — including screenshots of Google Mapsnear Maxson's house, more of Maxson's personal info, and screenshots of jailbait websites accounts that appear to link Maxson and Todd. Even though they've blurred out some of the names, you can see the disturbing association painted pretty clearly.

If Maxson is the creep who Anonymous alleges him to be, he's in for a world of pain, as Facebook groups have already popped up with names like, "Kody maxson WILL die," and "Kody Maxson Better Sleep With 1 Eye Open." After all, he would be the principal orchestrator of Todd's misery — the one who originally asked her to flash him, and then proceeded to hunt her down online a year later, demanding (according to the notes in her heartbreaking video) that she put ona show for him or he'd expose her. She didn't,and what happened next is truly awful:

That's when Amanda got "really sick" — she was diagnosed with depression and started drinking and doing drugs to get rid of the anxiety. It didn't help, and the bullying, which grew more intense asmore and more people found out about the naked photos, didn't stop. The man created a Facebook page with a list of her friends and school, using Amanda's naked chest as his profile photo. She changed schools, but the bullying followed her there, too. (That's the thing about the internet.)

Her brother has a youtube channel. I can't let it go either and I can't get rid of the pain. Everytime I use the net to stay on top of the story, I just cry and cry. The worse part is the hate some people won't let go of. She's dead! She's gone! Why are they still tormenting her? Yesterday one of them posted a sick bleach video on youtube.

You can't even report these youtube sickos because YouTube won't process any second-hand complaints about cyberbullying or harrassment. Only the victim can make a complaint! And the fields to report that are extremely limited. In other words, they don't care.

So I just found out he's the one who created those sick "Capper Award videos" I posted in the other thread and after he left court today, on charges of sexually interfering with a minor under 16, a reporter asked him if he knew Amanda Todd and he replied "Yes, we were friends". WTF, WTF!

Right before going to court, he deleted the pictures he uploaded at jailbait.com. This person is pure filth.

I'll tell you what hurt even more... There are LOTS of young girls doing this. These sickos are using pics of cute male teenagers for their avatars to lure these young girls. I just want to reach through the screen and yell "Honey, don't!"

9. this is our kids new norm that they are growing up in. i hear so much from so many different girls

their experience in the world. i do not know how they can process this and still have a healthy sexual journey/relationship and an healthy personal self growth journey. most of society they are immersed in works against it.

having a kid on social networks is not the answer.

we are teaching our boys this is their role, also. it is no more natural for them as it is for our girls.
