The shit is hitting the fan in Tahrir Square (CAIRO, Egypt).

The police are tear gassing protesters, and the protesters are throwing rocks at the police. People are yelling at the top of their lungs. BBC had a brief live feed of the developing situation.

So much for the "Arab Spring"--now we're into the "The New Guy Sucks Winter" I guess....

asshole ruler thinks he is a frigging Dictator-Pharaoh.

Meet the new boss....WORSE than the old boss. Not only is he wiping his behind on the Judiciary, he's also subjugating women and religious minorities and issuing "decrees" like he's the king. A real "pal of the people." I'm wagering a lot of people would prefer to turn back the clock to that tyrant Mubarak--at least he didn't have a problem with non-Muslims or women in positions of responsibility.

This shit doesn't smell like democracy to me, not in the slightest--it smells like a dictator who just doesn't get it: http://uk.reuters.com/article/2012/11/28/uk-egypt-idUKBRE8AP0C920121128

I hope the people will prevail, but this guy isn't backing down on his throttling of the courts and his demands about a constitution crafted to favor HIM that isn't subject to editing. And the Army? Their leaders have all been fired and they're sitting this mess out.

Poor Egypt. It's just a mess.
