Turkey: Workers Occupy Greif Burlap Sack Factory

In the face of their boss’s intimidation and pressure, workers of the U.S based Greif-Sanjut sack factory maintain their organized struggle by utilizing their collective power to first slow down production and now to occupy the factory.

They demand humane working conditions, removal of sub-contractors at the factory, upgraded low wages and the wage-slavery conditions, and basic social rights. The occupation will continue until their demands are met. So far, negotiations for collective bargaining with the boss and TIS (Textile Workers Union) proved fruitless, which led to the occupation.

"WE BREAK OUR CHAINS OF SLAVERY:
- The burden of the crisis to the bosses, the working class to power!
- Factories will not remain hell, the workers will not be slaves!
- This is the beginning, continue to fight!
- Occupation, strikes, resistance!"

Greif workers are the second group of factory workers in Turkey occupying their workplace. The owners of the Kozova Textile had abandoned their factory in order to escape paying the workers what they owed. Kozova workers had gotten support through social media and now operate the factory they’ve occupied by themselves and even opened an ındependent shop to sell their products. Kozova workers, also, show solidarity in Greif workers’ rightful struggle.

The corporate slave masters treat their employees like absolute crap. The corporate investor class needs to be taken down.
