Martin O'Malley's a real problem solver - he made a good presentation before NoLabels

...which anyone interested can watch and listen and decide for themselves.

watch:

excerpt:

"When Donald Trump says all immigrants are rapists and criminals, that's not being a problem solver," O'Malley said. "There are other adjectives for that – one of them being ‘racist.’ When he calls for ID badges for Muslims, that's not being a problem solver. That’s called making a fascist appeal. I would encourage you not to dumb down this label."

“When I talk to Americans all across the country under 30, you don’t see them wanting to slam America’s door in the face of Syrian refugees fleeing genocide...You don’t see young Americans wanting to bash new American immigrants like Donald Trump and you don’t see young people wanting to deny rights to gay couples or their kids.”

I'm not giving up until he throws in the towel.

And I'm in NJ so I don't have to vote in the Primary to make a difference.

I can go along to get along until November but I will be voting against Donald Trump if it is not O'Malley.

...due almost entirely to the excellence coming from Martin O'Malley.

I've been inclined to support his run for over a year, but I'm actually surprised at how closely he's mirrored my own political aims. It's been truly inspiring to see him soak in all of the contact with actual voters, one-on-one in countless intimate venues, and produce such a humanistic, progressive appeal.

I never take anything for granted in Md. elections. The ugly is strong among conservatives here.

And dare I say - I would 'cringe' if he opted for the VP role? First - I think it should be someone in their late 30's early 40's with either Sanders or Clinton. Second I think it should be someone Latino/Hispanic.

Third - I'd rather see O'Malley take a high level activism role outside of the Federal Government. I have zero belief anything will be get done for the next 4 years regardless of who is in office (hobbled by the House of Representatives) and he's almost too good for Government.

Yeah - I went there.

I have been big on him for a while.

While he might not get my vote in the primary, he does have my support. I'm on his team.

Nonetheless, Mr.?O’Malley has been stepping up his game, specifically by striking a deal with a tech company that benefited from a sizeable no-bid state contract when he was governor — and which then paid him nearly $148,000 for speeches and consulting in the months after he left office in January.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, who has tried to seize the progressive mantle in his White House bid, wrote an op-ed he eight years ago where he argued that the center - not the left - should be the Democratic Party's focus.

The 2007 Washington Post op-ed he co-authored with former Congressman Harold Ford Jr., then the chairman of the centrist Democratic Leadership Council was entitled "Our Chance to Capture the Center."

The two men wrote, "Some on the left would love to pretend that groups such as the Democratic Leadership Council, the party's leading centrist voice, aren't needed anymore. But for Democrats, taking the center for granted next year would be a greater mistake than ever before."

The O'Malley administration today pulled back from a sweetheart deal to buy $2.8 million in Eastern Shore farmland and hand it over for $1 a year to a Democratic campaign donor who wanted to use it as an "organic food hub" for the region. After questions from Comptroller Peter Franchot and an article in The Sun, the administration abruptly dropped the second two elements of the plan and instead pushed through the purchase with a promise to conduct requests for proposals for the rest. That's an improvement over the original idea, but it still represents seat-of-the-pants governing that is unlikely to produce the best results.

And there is the waterfront deal while the poor section of Baltimore looks like a third world country. I read he was groomed by Bill Clinton.

A DLC repackaged as a progressive. It's not like that hasn't happened before.
