Thu Jan 7, 2016, 09:10 AM
Jan 2016

This most pressing concern for our wellbeing are the international challenges facing the nation. Her grasp and actual knowledge is revealed in her book "Hard Choices." I would suggest that her critics take out time to read just how complicated the situation is when dealing with international politics. The simpletons who believe Trumps ridiculous nonsense should be not be our standard.

She is also realistic in her proposals. While Sanders is absolutely correct in his criticism of the system; just how reasonable are his demands? This board has become similar to the echo chamber that prevented the Republicans for grasping the reality of the situation. Just to mention one reality should be cause for intense concern. Where is his support from the minorities who must vote if the Democrats are to have a decent chance of winning the presidency and any hope of regaining control of congress?

smoke.. mirrors.. lies...

from:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=976355

He'd be 100% the only candidate worth electing! If only what he says was possible. This is EXACTLY what I keep on about.. he makes great promises that he will NOT have the authority to make come to pass. It's either lies or ignorance.

Within one year, my administration will break these institutions up so that they no longer pose a grave threat to the economy as authorized under Section 121 of the Dodd-Frank Act.

He's right that Dodd-Frank does give that power.. to the board of governors, and requires a 2/3 vote for approval of the board of governors. This is NOT a presidential power. He can make the list, but that's as far as this tootless tiger can go, the board of governors in no form for at least the next 12 years is going to support that vote. At best he can start getting a few of the old governors replaced with better nominations, but even those have to have a Senate that will approve them. Give me that Senate roll call that will support revamping the Fed. Hint, for at least the 115th congress, it doesn't exist unless someone goes out and recruits a MESS of really progressive senators right now.

Reinstate Glass-Stegall? Again, show me a realistic hypothetical congressional roll call of any potential version of the 115th congress.. and I will give serious reconsideration of my candidate support. As president, all he has (for this particular reinstatement) is the bully pulpit, and as everyone loves to point out his strong point of being the political outsider.. that is NOT a beneficial trait for a POTUS trying to use the bully pulpit. Sorry, but that is the nakked reality.

Not one major Wall Street executive has been prosecuted for causing the near collapse of our entire economy.

That will change under my administration. “Equal Justice Under Law” will not just be words engraved on the entrance of the Supreme Court. It will be the standard that applies to Wall Street and all Americans.

Now this has me REALLY curious. I'm assuming this would be using the attorney General's office. Is there actual laws or legal precident that he could work with? This might be possible?

Under my administration, we will turn for-profit credit rating agencies into non-profit institutions, independent from Wall Street. No longer will Wall Street be able to pick and choose which credit agency will rate their products.

Another interesting one to me. Under what power, law, or authority can he achieve this, or is he going to have to depend on and work with Congress to make this happen?

The section on reforming the Federal Reserve? Again, a beautifully worded section. This part I know he can't possibly get done without full congressional cooperation, and again, there's no version of the potential 115th congress that's going to do that.

I know Tea Partiers "denounce 100%" climate change.

Birthers had a trouble with facts as well.

By all means, denounce 100% as much as you'd like, but do know. I'm willing to continue discussing facts rather than feel good empty promises any time you'd like to continue the discussion.

If what the Senator proposes is actually viable and possible within the realm of political realities.. please do make the case.

My top issues has always included a path to citizenship. Hillary was the first to call for this, and she has put it forward as an issue for a long time:

Hillary has fought for gun control for many years. She doesn't waffle or back-track or allow gun manufacturers to get off the hook. That is another hot issue for me and has been for a long time. There are too many links to even bother to post them here.

a person can support HRC and still be a good Democrat
Just as a person can support Sen Sanders or O' Malley and still be a good Democrat
From some posts I've seen here, there are people who seem to feel otherwise

I l ike all Bernie's domestic ideals. I
would send him $$27 if Bernie would start to address
The world situation outside of the US. HRC is well situated to make reasons in substantial points here. IF Bernie expands his message HRC might not be so inevitable

Today is a tragic day for humanity...

...and for the children. 30,000 of whom in the third world will starve to death today while we spend billions to wage this war.

How can Hillary supporters hear this and continue to support a war monger bent on regime change?

process where candidates debate issues openly and often. Where the gutter politics of the opposition do not enter into our political discussion. Where myself and all my fellow Democrats stand behind the ultimate winner of our primary and defeat the Republican candidate whomever that may be.
First I am a Liberal Progressive Democrat!

Still waiting to see anything Bernie there. Apparently the Admin here thinks if they just ignore him, he'll go away. That's not working so well for the MSM.

I'm going to.

Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost. John Quincy Adams

"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else, where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all."
